My wife and I grabbed this as our gift to us, from us for our 13th wedding anniversary. Very cool game!

Big thanks to Scott for driving all the way up here and loading and unloading this with me. Set up and all!

Yeah!

Thanks guys... besides hearing all the movie quotes, the music is awesome... though we are HUGE fans of the movies...lol

Tomdotcom, I was told game play was not good on this, but we love it... been playing it for several hours now and it just keeps getting more fun. Especially the time machine and toilet with fat bastard...lol

I love that multi-ball is easy enough to get that my wife and son can do it too.

This thing is so much fun...lol We love it so far!

The fat bastard toilet sounds pretty funny, overall sounds like a good machine but I guess its opinion and preference really as a lot of games/pins are.

I used to have an Austin Powers, and that one looks like it's in great shape! It's rare to get one without the cabinet art worn by the flippers. Do yourself a favor and go to www.pinballpal.com and get some of their stealth protectors to keep that art from getting worn!

Some more tips:
-Make sure you have the most current game Roms...and if the resistor mod to improve the sound hasn't been done yet, I highly recommend it:
http://www.sternpinball.com/downloads/sb133.pdf

-If Dr. Evil's hand hasn't broken off yet, I suggest you reinforce it with some clear drying epoxy, and a hard rubber piece wedged between his hand and body.

-Replace the black plastic tapered post sleeves w/ Cliffy's color post sleeves from www.passionforpinball.com He also sells a AP scoop hole protector!

-If Mini-Me isn't spinning very well, place a dab of Soy Lube on either end of his spinner (where his bar goes through the bracket holes). He'll spin like CRAZY!!!!

-If you're feeling really frisky ....freeze off the factory mylar! I did that on mine, and it was SO fast and shiny when I was done!

Thanks for all the advice! The resistor mod I def have to do, as well as the new ROMS as it is running 2.01 I believe. But I could tell right away (after reading up on the machine) the sound fix had not been done yet... which is cool as I wanted to do it!

Thanks so much for the links!!!

No prob! I edited it w/ a few more tips, too. :) Another thing ...I forget what the default settings are...but if you're like me you'll want to set it to "Adult" or else you won't be getting a lot of quotes (Alotta Fagina, for example). There's also a setting for Washington DC ...I think the most current ROM has that set to "off" (9/11 sensitivity).

Very cool info! I can tell I will be buying a ton for this machine! The protectors, and I love the colored post covers!

Mini Me spins great, but I am going to do your fix anyway, and Dr. Evil still has his arm and hands...lol

I cant wait to do some LED work too!

Tomorrow she gets cleaned... not that it is too dirty, but I like to give them a once over anyway! Thanks again! Gunna go track down the resistors tonight I think!

AP is a pretty easy game to tear down for a cleaning, if you really want to get all the places the ball can grab dirt from. It was definitely one of my quicker shop jobs.

As for LEDs - the game is pretty well lit...but one light that sucks is the one on Dr. Evil's rig. There IS a light under him, but you can barely see it. I put a 5-matrix LED from www.bcspinball.com under there and it really brightened him up when he rose up. I forget if there was a spotlight cover on that light...if not - I added one, which helps focus the light. If I stlil had the game, I probably would have tried to find a way to mount a few more of those LEDs under there to really make him shine when he rises up.

Ah...you bastage...you're making me miss my AP! Hehe.

austin Powers

For some reason this pin does'nt get alot of Love. But i've never played it would like too some day/ Own one. I love the movies hoping for a new one but does'nt look likely.

I think alot of people bash on it because of the theme. Either you like the movies or not ans some people didn't care for them. Me there is some great pins-crappy movies. Demo Man, Johnny M., Last Action Hero to name a few.........

Yeah, it seems like a lot of the people who hate it also hate the movies- or hate the Austin "theme song" that plays for most of the game. For me, after a while the game got kind of easy...and it's very multiball heavy, which can get boring after a while. The reason I decided to sell it was because I also had RFM and LOTR which have similar layouts...but are better games, IMO. If I had unlimited room - I'd get an AP again! It's fun.

And Dewman - I thought of one more thing for you! If you do a full shop out - change to white rubber and red flipper rubber! If you do a REAL shop out and get all the dirt....not only will white rubber keep your game cleaner than black rubber...but white rubber is bouncier and enhances the gameplay.

In retrospect, I would have also replaced those black sling posts w/ translucent red star posts! They look so much better.
