I have a Xybots that was in bad need of joystick repair. There was a black rubber (?) piece around the central white plastic core that presses against the microswitches when you move the joystick. Well, something caused it to deteriorate and it basically turned to gummy goo.
I tried to replace it with a section of vinyl tubing, but couldn't find a good way to tie the ends together, so it kept falling off or out of place.
Someone recommended a pinball rubber ring, but I had no idea what size I would need. I paid a visit to Marco Specialties, the pinball supplier and he hooked me up.
I got two 1-1/4" inner diameter black rings for each stick. They fit snugly around the center portion and actuate the switches perfectly.
Now I can play.. "the human has been neutralized..."
