I have this 1078-1 thats worked great for months but now it won't coin up.

I checked the conenections and metered from the coin switch to the edge connector and it rings out good.

If the wiring is good it must be in the board???

Any suggestions on where to start?

How did you have this setup before?

Did the board do anything strange last time you used it? Did you change anything too the system recently?

Does it do this on every game or just some?

I sold this as a four player unit to a guy and he said everything worked fine and one day it just didn't coin up.

It loads to the game selection screen but you must add credits to select a game so it just sits on the selection screen.

I know with mine it can either be coined up on the game Menu or Load the game you want and then coin it up.

maybe the credit switchs have gone bad? Have you maybe tryed another board in the machine? Maybe something happened too the harness or the PS .

I used one for about 3 years and it stopped working lost sound, PS Kept locking up.. Just a thought..

I assume that it has the two power supplies to run it right? The cab ps and then another added for the 2nd board? Make sure both power supplies(if switchable) are set to 110 and not 220, maybe he flipped it or something happened to it.

I had the same problem, mine turned out to be the cab ps went bad. Replaced that, and everything's fine. Showed the same signs, everything booted up, it displayed the menu, but you couldn't do anything beyond that.

After spending a few days working on one of these with issues ....

SW2 Dipswitch number one needs to be on when board is powered on

The cabinet PS is not that important. It will turn on on it's own without it. You can wire the 12v and ground from the ATX supply to the jamma side and it will keep it turned on.

The top board is controlled through a program called coinme.exe and coinus.exe (when in 4 player mode)

The board runs a verion of PPJoy to convert the buttons and joysticks to virtual joysticks. Four virtual joysticks for all of the controls

3rd and forth are the breakout board buttons.

The coin switch itself are handled by the PS2 connection from the top board to the lower board, I think.

goto xxxxin1.com and look around, might be some help. I couldnt get anyone there to help with my problems though.. not like here on KLOV!!! =)

The manual for the xxxx in 1 has a troubleshooting guide in it. It says for the system powering up but not able to enter a game, you need to do what I assume is reprogramming the HD. Give the manual a read and see if that's your conclusion to what they are saying (the manual isn't very clear, lol).

simpsons99: ...I know with mine it can either be coined up on the game Menu or Load the game you want and then coin it up....

i had a bit of trouble with that - the 1940-1 wouldnt coin up before game selection, so i had to set it for coin up after game selection.

Good idea, I'll try to set it for coin up after game selection now that I have the manual (thanks Steve). I'm going to swap out to a good Jamma board and see if it works.

Thanks for the help
