What is a 6-play Xmen cab in decent condition worth and is it a good enough game to bother with considering it's size and what not...?

I have seen them sell for anywhere from $400 to $800. I have also seen quite a few of them given away for free due to the size.

If the artwork looks good I think you could resell it in a bigger market fairly easily. I know of a few people looking for them in the Seattle area and I have been asked about them fairly often in other markets as well.

I've seen people have a hard time selling them because the size limits peoples interest. If someone has a boatload of extra room then it's a pretty cool piece but I would just barely take one for free and even then I'm not sure I would take the thing. But I have no room so that's why. Plus the replay value is limited. I'd only consider it to resell to try to fund something else.

That being said, they are pretty cool to look at. I don't know how much is fair though. $500 for a nice one maybe? Just guessing here.

$50 and I'm not joking. They are so big that no one but the most hardcore xmen/arcade collector will really make room for them . It will likely take forever to resell it at $50 if you buy it unless the buyer is simply buying it to part it out and smash the cab.

Yeah... I think i am going to pass... thinking on it... I don't even have 6 friends total.

:D

We pulled one out of a warehouse pretty cheap. The thing is an absolute BEAST. The control panel alone is bigger than most games. AJCRM125 got it, it's in his 'cade. It's SOOOO BIG!

If you had infinite space, sure, go for it. But if not, I'd run like hell! :)

depends on how nice the art is, especially the giant control panel overlay which is usually notoriously in shambles.

there are tons of these things in terrible shape, both structurally or cosmetically...finding a nice one can be tough. And then there's the sound chip problem...

I paid a lot for mine *and* had it shipped.

But yeah, they are so big that it's tough to give them away in some areas, although on the other hand X-Men is about as evergreen a property as you can get, so there will always be fans and people who want it.

I think it's defnitely a game you have to really want if you're dedicating the space for it. I love mine and it would be the last machine I'd let go, but there's a huge nostalgia factor for me too.

I'd be all over it if I had the room. Hell, with that and T-Mek, I might as well just say to hell with it and just collect all the monster cabs.

We had 2 at MAGFEST last year. There were very few games that had players on them all day and night. The X-men cabinet was definately one of them. It has become a cult classic for MAGFEST. The other games that got a lot of play was the TMNT and Simpsons multi-player machines. By far the greatest played game was Subarubrat's Family Guy pinball.
