I worked on two red tent monitors over my spring break and had good luck. I ended up replacing both flybacks w/ new ones from arcadecup, cap kits, and replaced a HOT on one of the monitors, which originally didn't match what was supposed to be there. The monitor that had the HOT, flyback, and capkit is working well.

--heres the problem---
Monitor 2 (cap kit, flyback replaced) was working fine. Last night, I reinstall the monitor and go to turn on the monitor and all I hear is a "tick, tick, tick". I turned it off and assume the HOT has gone. I turned it back on and watch for neck glow, nothing. Strangely, for the few seconds I left the monitor on I did see that there was a small ember like color (like the glow from the neck) slowly pulsating on the screen? This seemed unnatural so I shut off the game, discharged the tube and went to sleep. WTF.

--so far i've..--
Measured the Ohms reading from the yoke wires and they read 14 and 2. As far as I can tell from other threads, this seems to be spot on.I also put the diode function and tested the Hot. I'm not exactly sure if I was testing correctly, so I posted the readings below. 564 seems to be from the outward edge in, 005 seems to be the reading from the two center points..

Test the HOT by putting your red lead in the center of the trans case, and the black lead to the chassis frame. it should read roughly 1200 - 1500.

Dokert,
transistor case, as in other side where the silk screened writing is? I placed the red probe there, and the black probe on the monitor frame and it read 1...
