Picked up a Xenophobe in a Rampage cabinet a few months back and thought it'd be fun to work on. The Rampage works fine and all, but I think the Xenophobe cabinet deserves the Xenophobe game and the Rampage its own cabinet as well. I'll be doing updates as I can to it. And I'll be logging them here for the internet's amusement.

Xenophobe/Rampage - Which is it?

A few weeks later, a second update. Found an ebay "untested" Xenophobe PCB. It looked good in its pictures so I decided to spring for it.

Xenophobe #3 - Untested Sounds Good Board

Bought an untested 'Sounds Good' board on eBay. Spent some time fiddling with it until I figured out that the harness I'm using that made Rampage work isn't fully translatable to Xenophobe. The pinouts for sound are different and as such. This is a talky episode, more than I'd have liked. But it's mostly for reference in the future when I forget what I did.

New Control Panel and Joysticks

Thanks to fellow KLOV members, got my hands on a control panel and set of joysticks! Short video showing the disassembly of the Rampage control panel and the attempted install of the new ones.

Cool man. Keep at it. Worthy restoration!

Thanks! Been doing some other things over the last few days. Probably will return to the game this weekend and get the control panel installed completely and...that should be it (minus the marquee.)

Finally got the control panel installed. Had to rewire the whole harness because I chose poorly and decided to reconfigure the Rampage harness rather than use one of the included Xenophobe harnesses. I figured it would be less work, but I was wrong.
