Just curious, as I have one that I can either sell whole or part out. It works perfectly, but it is missing both back doors and the lower cabinet section needs sprucing up, paint, and re-striping. Whaddayall think?

Don't kill it. Those are hard to find unbutchered. Somebody will want it as it is unique. Perhaps one of the barcades will but it for variety

Yes. Xenophobe is cool.

It's a unique game... fun solo or with three people. Definitely preserve.

There was one at the Woodlake Bowl in Woodland Hills, CA back in the day that we played a bunch.

Preserve. There's alot of site gag easter eggs in that game, if you enjoy such things, and the multiplayer aspect is nice.

I spoke about it in depth with Brian Colin last year at FreePlay Florida. He had many more plans for that game than what the programmers were able to work in! But there's alot of site gag easter eggs in there for those of you that enjoy that type of thing (like me). The controls take some getting used to, however. I still can't say that I have them down.

And I have to admit... I love the art style of it, Rampage, and Brian's other games.

I didn't realize until I met him last year that these were all designed by the same person - I should've known! Highly enjoyed meeting him.

Ok. Will make the necessary repairs and sell in the future. Thanks!

I love Xenophobe. I played it a lot growing up. I loved the aliens movies and this was like being in the movie. I have been looking for one in Ky that isn't a POS.

I liked it when I was a kid. Makes for one ugly conversion, I have seen too many with combatribes or SF2 shoehorned in.

Seems to be cheap when you can find it. Will probably cost $2000 in 2 years so hang onto it :p

Yeah fun multi player game. My brother and I dropped $20 into this game the first day we saw it at an arcade. Great fun.

While I get they were going for a unique cabinet design all around, I like the game a lot more with a conventional joystick / buttons. I wouldn't butcher a cab or anything, this is just one of those I prefer to emulate with a standard input setup.

I have tried to play it with regular controls and didn't like it. I played it to much as a kid with the odd ball controls so much I can't change. I guess that makes me an old man LOL.

Ooh, this is an oldy but goody that I'd forgotten about. I was in college when this came out and I remember liking to play it with friends BITD.

What do you mean by odd ball controls? It's an 8 way joystick and 3 buttons, right? That's what MAME says it has and it seems to work that way on my vertical MAME cabinet.

I would say it's in no ones top 20, but it's an interesting game. I think it will play well in a large collection or arcade. When I took mine to cax it was getting played.

I remember it voraciously swallowing my money BITD when I was a starving college student so it didn't get as much play as it could have.

But I also remember it being a fun 2 player game.

And yeah, you're probably right in your summary above. :)

Not really controls but it used a flight stick instead of a joystick. You had the trigger button and then the two buttons on the back of the flight stick that you pressed with your thumb. I attached an image of the control panel.

Thanks for the pic. I'd long since forgotten that.
