Xenon question...everything works except all the solenoids are dead

I am very new with pinball so forgive me if the answer is obvious...I have a Zenon pinball that all the solenoids just went dead when it was turned on. The game is at a friends house so I have not messed with it much. The 3/16 AMP fuse on the Solenoid drive board is good.

Anyone have any advise as to where to start?

There is a 1 amp slo blo fuse located next to one of the flippers on the underside of the playfield. If blown, you will not have any solenoid voltage to the playfield coils.

There is also a fuse under the playfield as well, if it is blown none of the solonoids will work.

That is what I was thinking as well. Looking at the schematics I am thinking (if I am reading it correctly) fuse F4.

I currently have the game at a friends house...asked him to open it up and look. He tested all the fuses...they were all good. He closed it up and turned it back on...it is all working again! Must have let the electronic demon out.

The other day I was looking at the solenoid board and reseated the wire harnesses that are going to it. I retested it after most of them, but not all of them. Maybe that was it... or letting the demon out from beneath the play field.

Maybe that was it...the fuse lost good connection and when my friend lifted it up it made connection again. I'll remember that fuse.

Thanks for the help!

I've recently had a couple of Bally pinball machines of that vintage, a Xenon and a Mata Hari where that fuseholder next to the flippers (with the 1 amp slo blo fuse in it) had gone bad. One of the fuse clips in the fuseholder had cracked and was making intermittent connection. I ended up going to Radio Shack and buying a new fuseholder for those two machines to fix it.

I think that was it. My friend sent me a picture of that fuse holder and fuse (I'll post it later). It has a wire around the holder to keep the fuse in. I bet lifting the playfield made the fuse have contact again. Thanks for tje tip! Off to radio shack when I get a chance.
