I know of one privately for sale....everything works but I have not seen it.The guy says $1000 OBO....I am thinking of offering $600-$700 or will see if he will do a straight swap for my carbon sauna which is just gathering dust these days.

Your thoughts please.

Have to see pix...playfield wear is a BIG factor in old Bally pins. Also if the back glass is shot your talking some serious coin for that particular game also. If the game works and is mint $800-$1000 is reasonable though.

OK I have a general question about the machine, how much does this thing wiegh and can the back scoreboard be detached with little trouble?

It weighs around 350-375 lbs

To take the head off you would have to disconnect most of the connections to the boards but not all of them, then tuck the wires down in the cab. I usually take a Sharpie and mark the connections and draw the layout with the numbering on paper. So some trouble but is dooable. BTW the head won't fit through a standard 32" interior door mounted on the cabinet.

It does not matter....the game was sold to someone else...he left a deposit and that is that...I was told that the game is in MINT condition as well....kind of a kick in the teeth.

That's the way it goes usually, it's either a fake ad, or you have to act INSTANTLY! I'm sure anyone here can attest to that...gorgeous looking game, I wasn't to excited about the gameplay the last few times I've tried it...

sounds like a plan after you look at the playfield. try and detect any flaws, broken pieces, worn spots near the pop bumpers and flippers anything. use that info to try and talk him down. make sure it boots up ok. be wary if its already on when you go there

Doesn't matter now...it was sold...

yes it does. people search for info all the time. if anything we should be adding to this thread

like

i look at the legs. they can tell you a lot. if they are rusty, maybe the machine was stored in a wet location which can lead to all kinds of electrical problems. if legs are rusty, i like to look at the hardware under the playfield for clues to a wet situation too.

i look at connectors everywhere i can. if there are brown spots that can warn you to an electrical problem and to a past electrical problem. one can use that as a talking point to try and get the pinball cheaper.

i like to look at the areas around pop bumpers. they wear out and can be an indicator of how well the machine was cared for.
i also look around the playfield inserts for wear, bubbling in the mylar and mylar lifting.

the PCB's in the backbox, what condition are they in ? any repairs be detected ? battery corrosion ? interconnect cables, wiring and connectors all look ok ? everything clean/dirty/dusty ?

how does the cabinet look ? faded ? corners splitting slightly ? legs wearing where they connect to the cabinet ? paint peeling, missing, rub marks, previous touch ups ?

i like to look at as much as possible to help me determine the condition of machine to establish worth.

i'd like to say hello to all who are searching for information !
:)
