Xenon - My New Project

I would replace the connector, pins, and header on the board.

or

Reflow the header pins on the backside of the board where the connector plugs into.

As mentioned a few pages back I would replace the header and pins.

I would still be suspicious of another problem like a failing display. Bad pins on that connector shouldn't really cause a reset.

Well, since twisting that connector and securing it i've not had a reset. I spent about an hour last time running it while re-installing playfield parts.

I am down to waiting for my Marco order... which is supposed to be here today. I should be playing TONIGHT (perhaps!)...

EDIT: Just checked the tracking and YUP...she's "out for delivery".

:D

EDIT#2: Anyone have a good source for a filter cap? What is the spec recommended? Anything above/beyond stock?

Just stop doing everything else for a while and replace connectors. You'll have to do it eventually anyways, or it will be about as reliable as an 84 Dodge Daytona.

That's a gorgeous game. I'm hoarding some classic Ballys (but don't have Xenon) that I can't wait to start on sometime soon.

I was finally able to bust out the tri-pod and take some pics of the gameroom last night. Here are some shots of Xenon... with the new glass on (I was too lazy to remove the glass from 3 pins last night and I sorta dug the head reflection in the glass)...

Friz that is absolutely beautiful!! I have to admit I'm not really a big fan of Xenon I must admit you changed my mind a liitle bit...

This is definitely my favorite era of Bally! Something about the old squalk and talk voice sounds really cool to me! On a side not, I recently played a Medusa-my god I'm in love!!:D
