ok got a xenon,
did a shop out for it, it now works good and i tested it about 20 games before moving it to a location, as soon as i get it there the tube eject hole starts not working intermittedly.
but it works all the time on power up and test, but in game mode it will show the bonus you get, but then stall out and not eject, but its like the program is not moving on?
just to be sure i checked the coil, the diode, the coil wire and diode connections to coil and to backbox, all ok
then to kind of shotgun the prob, i sanded and then cleaned with eraser and cloth all chip legs on the cpu, and all pin headers, as well as resoldered all pin headers on cpu and driver, prob still there!
to top it off i remember 20 yrs ago i had another xenon with pretty much the same problem and i never found what it was with that one !
any idea's?
i am considering replacing the cpu with the new style, but since im really not sure whats happening that might not fix it.

I'm swapping playfields on mine, but remember before I started, mine had the same issue.. another thing it was doing was it wouldn't play the background noise.. both issues are a stuck switch in that trough I believe. When I pulled the wiring off it looked like it was stuck on. I have not had the chance to re-install the new playfield to see if it all works properly, but sure that was the issue.

xenon

thanx for the lead on the ball trough sw, it seems maybe a software bug?
in that now it works great and the fix was to make the gap in the ball trough sw (2 of them) as large as possible so they barley make when the ball is sittin in them, i guess if the ball trough sw makes when the ball is in the eject hole the program locks up and then wont eject it, they were kind of close together before i got into this
