So one of my programmers that I use is a Xeltek SuperPro 3000u. I'm trying to program a GAL chip, (specifically a GAL22v10 chip), but it won't do it properly...for example the file that I'm using starts with:

(Starts with)

*L00032 00000000000011111111111111111111
*L00064 11111111111111111111111101111011
*L00096 11111011101101110111011110111111
*L00128 11110000000000000000000000000000

(etc)

and goes like that

but when I look at the buffer in the Superpro it says something completely different and programs completely different:

(starts with)

L000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000*
L000044 11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111*
L000088 10111011011111111111111111110111111111111111*
L000132 11111111011110111111111111111011111111111111*

(etc)

Needless to say it doesn't work...what's happening here?

Hi, probably the .jed files you are using is not suitable for a GAL22V10.If you can, post it here.

I'm the dumper of this PAL while Porchy reversed its equations if a suitable device (GAL22V10) so I can confirm it was tested as working.
Check if you have some option enabled in your programmer software.

Oh I know they work as I tried it with a different eprom programmer. It's just that it doesn't work with this and I really want to know why lol. I did a clean install of the software on a different computer and it does the same thing.

I installed the software and tried myself, also for me the buffer fills differently, I think it's a bug of the software.I'd contact Xeltelk directly. Can you try other device than GAL22V10 (GAL16V8 for example)?

I briefly had a Superpro 3000... It refused to program GAL's properly. It would go through the motions, say the part was programmed. When I did a verify - the part was always blank. Always worked for EPROM's but never GAL's. Sold that POS.
Bought a very nice Advin Pilot U84+ for $100 on ebay. That guy can program anything (except the old 1702's) - and do it correctly.

Will it do 1702A?

I'm still trying to find something that will program a 1702A

No luck so far.
