XBox360 Arcade for $99 at WalMart??

Currently available online. Gift card arrives instantly via email, console ships UPS.

Are the older x-box games compatible with x-box 360 arcade or do you have to buy something extra?

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy (Xbox, 2005)

Would that work on Xbox 360? Whole reason for me getting 360 is to play the trilogy.

Thanks,
Kevin

Amazon doing same deal.

I would rather buy from Amazon, no tax and better customer service. Also more products to use the $100 credit on!

Did Amazon change their ad while I was sleeping? Right now, I can't see the $100 credit.

I looked around and found it. It's only at certain 2 hour windows during the day. I believe the next one is 12pm pct, which would be 3 eastern. So at 3pm you should be able to buy it for 2 hours with the $100 promo code.

2 hours? Less than 2 minutes! I was able to snag one from Wal Mart and 1 from Amazon.

My final price at walmart after $100 gift card $91 and something cents. Wife works at walmar so sshe got her employee discount on $199 :)

She just left Best Buy with 2 games at $9.99 each. Red Alert 3 and Soldier of Fortune.

I'm STOKED!!!

Any Xbox 360 game is playable on any Xbox 360, so no worries there. As far as playing original Xbox games on the Xbox 360, only some of them are compatible... see the link below.

I used my $100 gift card to get a Nintendo DS for my son's birthday on the 15th. For $238.06 I got the Xbox 360 Arcade and a Nintendo DS. Bday and Xmas shopping = done.

Their are 10 of these listed on KSL right now from people who bought them and are keeping the giftcard and trying to turn a profit. 10!!! Good luck to all of them who bought them with those intentions.

Arcade has no hard drive. You'll need one eventually, and seeing as how M$ wants to nickel and dime their customers to death you have to buy it from them. Other than that it's basically the same.

I won't be buying one. I gave up on Xbox long ago. I have had 2 RROD on me and will not give M$ another dollar. I have a box of them sitting in the closet that I plan on messing with eventually.

FYI.

If they have not RROD'ed more then a few times they are easily fixable. Anyone in this forum should be able to do it.

^ +1. That's only if it's out of warranty as well.

You can find the diagnostic codes online so you can figure out exactly what the RROD code the system is throwing. RROD just means a fatal error, there are about 20-30 errors it could actually be.

sorry for so many replies to this..

If I get the cheapest HD, can i switchthe drive itself with a regular hard drive then? <-- Xbox newb

Kevin

Technically yes if the drive is the right model and the right size. The 120 is a common one that is swapped into the 20 gig case. You'll need some files from the retail 120 gig HD, which you can get online.

The real downside to doing this is that if MS detects that you have swapped your HD, they'll ban your console from xbox live just like any modded console they detect.
