I have 2 sit-down driving controllers (chair, wheel, pedals, gear shift, etc...) for the original xbox. I would like to adapt to use on my xbox 360 but I can't seem to find anyway to do this?!?

It is corded of course and I am looking for any ideas on how best to do this...?

Thanks!

The Xbox controller is USB with 1 extra signalling line, that's it that's all.

The only way to accomplish this, is to crack a pad open and solder your other controllers wires to the PCB at each spot for buttons etc, or rip out it's encoder chip and transplant it into your other controller.

It's not possible to simply "chop" the wire and plug it into the 360, there's encryption on the 360 I do believe, preventing unauthorized 3rd party peripherals from being used.

Then how come the adpaters to allow xbox controllers to be used on a PC won't work on the 360?

Is it fairly simple to buy 2 360 controllers, remove the wires and chip together and solder to the old xbox controller then?

Thanks!

Not sure, I have never cracked open a 360 controller, but that would depend entirely on the way the circuitry lies between the encoder chip and the encryption chip on the 360 controller and if the pinout is compatible.

You're better off cracking open both controllers and wiring point to point (A on Xbox controller to A on 360 controller). Put the wires inside some heatshrink tubing to make it pretty, and maybe even use a connector of some kind to unhook them and leave the original connector in place.
