Based on the thread about Williams Pinball Hall of Fame I know there's a bunch of 360 owners here, so I figured I'd share this one. The Xbox Live marketplace was certainly the home of a bunch of dubiously ported classics at first, I guess it's only natural to take this kind of step. It certainly looks a lot like the arcade game sections of PS Home, but I'm not about to complain about a visual hijack if it means a bunch of decent games in a neat looking space. How much of it will be well done classics if this comes to fruition is obviously the important point, that remains to be seen. I'd pay for it as an extra app/whatever if the price was right and the games were good.

thats cool. ALSO everyone should DL the retro gamer registration pic, enter for a chance at the grand priz, ms pac machine.

Mmmm, thread necro, I knew this thread was around somewhere. It's official:

Press release just came out, the 40 points for single play thing is 50 cents after point -> money conversion if my math is right, but a bit strange sounding to me. If it winds up being anything like the Namco arcade section in PS Home, I may not use it much, hopefully the UI will be a lot more seamless than that one.

A lot of the "retro" stuff put out for xbox live arcade was sketchy at best, if they're really pushing hard for 1000 games I'm a bit worried that the quality is going to be even worse than the early stuff. I wonder how deep into the mame archives they'll go for that kind of number, or if half of it is going to be made up of new games that are something somewhat resembling the old stuff.

*e* watching a video feed from the show, i know for sure i saw Centipede and Sub Hunt, didn't catch any other titles, as it's crappy quality. Atari, Konami and Intellivision were mentioned by name, with talk of new games every week and the 1000 over the next 3 years. I'll update this post if a more complete story gets posted. Though not mentioned in the article, no surprise to xbox owners, they're saying you'll be able to play head to head vs friends. They showed something that looked like an old west showdown intro, hopefully you don't have to do that every time you play against someone, it'd get annoying as hell.

well imma try it out either way, you can purchase the game instead of dropping the 50c to play which isnt to bad if you like the game. Spring time they say, so I guess we will wait and see
