I found one of these for sale and was woundering what everyone thought about it? Is it fun? Does it get boring fast? This guy has it listed for $100 but I am going to call him for more picks, the picks in the add do not show much. What they do show does not look right. It looks like the image is cut off the screen. I am adding the picks below. I really want a two player fighting game for my son and his friends.

Even if it is in the ugliest cabinet known to man, it is worth that price alone for the monitor and board.

For a whole cabinet that's a good deal. The game itself isn't bad, but was basically replaced by the marvel vs. capcom series. More characters, refined balance, etc. Perhaps this has it's own unique features, but I'm not that hardcore a fan.

In the picks of the title screen it looks like the xmen part is way off the screen. Is it just a bad pick or bad timming and it has not loaded all the way?

it's also CPS2 so alot of Capcom fighting games will work in it with a simple board swap. Get tired of this and it's MVC, MVC2, Alpha 3, ETC.

$100 For the Cab?

I'd be on it like flies on rice.

Xmen Vs Street Fighter is fun. Much better than COTA or MSH.

If it's decent six button cab, there is a lot to do.
MvsC (the best in the series in my opinion) is an easy swap.

Any CPSII game is an easy swap.

THe monitor looks like it just needs to be adjusted. Possibly it needs a new pot.

MVC2 is Naomi and has a lot of parts. Plus you need the Capcom IO in order to make it JAMMA.

Its not bad "timing" of the pic, something is wrong with that monitor. It looks like someone put a chassis for a 25" monitor on a 19" tube because your picture is extremely short in both directions.

Yeah...it looks like the vertical sync is a bit off on the monitor. Also, I hope he took pictures with the lights on. LOL that would be mad shady otherwise. :p

BUT, 100 bucks is definitely in the ballpark for a working A+B XSF boardset. So you're definitely ahead of the curve even if the cabinet is complete junk.

The game itself is really fun. It's the game where the classic "Marvel" concept really came together (the formula would change up drastically in MvC2). EZPZ magic series combo system. Tons of unintentional infinite combos to find if you get hardcore into. Really easy for fighting game noobs to figure out and jump into. Flashy art and music. If you have friends that are Capcom fans they will instantly notice the game and have a positive reaction.

Like Kidvidiot mentioned, it is semi-cult status. If you get bored, someone will be willing to buy the boardset for 100 or so bucks.

I'd like to get a 6 button dynamo with no monitor and swap in a 16:9 flat screen HD monitor and hook it up to my PS3/360.

So many good fighters coming out these days.

Although I play mine with a Supergun and imported it from the UK and paid alot more I can at least comment on the game.

I personally enjoy it a lot more than Marvel vs Capcom... I know I am in the minority with that opinion, but to me XvSF seems much more "sane"... It still has crazy specials and high jumps with infinite combos, but there's no seizure-inducing wildness on the screen as in in MvC2, and I prefer it without that.

For me it doesn't get old... especially if you have a friend to play with, and it has several turbo speed settings to spice things up as well.

If you're unsure about it, look at some videos of the gameplay.

A 4:3 CRT VGA would be awesome rotated for Dreamcast/360 shumps.

The proper name of the the Joystick clips "E Clips" or "C clips". The proper name is "Jesus Clip".
Every time one goes flying, Jesus flies out of the mouth.

Also on the joysticks, did the Madcatz pad have one common or two?
I have heard that some use a different common for the buttons than for the controls and that you can't tie them together.
