X-Men has no start buttons!

I think all of the 4p Konami cabs don't have start buttons. It isn't really needed for their games. I'm guessing they didn't think that their cabs would someday be used as MAME machines. :)

That's weird, I have an X-Men board with 4 buttons in the test menu and you HAVE to have start wired up...what the heck is up with that

Why would they do that? It's messing up my Mame mojo!

it's a common known fact... Now you need to drill LOL

Xmen can be configured to start with a Start button or with an action button.

What a lack of foresight. :)

I like to leave the cab in original condition but in this case I may have to go do that. It's just stunning to me that I bought the game, brought it home, looked at it a bunch of times, rearranged my game room for it, put the control panel back on, installed the computer....and never even noticed it didn't have start buttons until I tried to play it. Not exactly Sherlock Holmes am I?

To explain my dilemma...normally I use the start button on Mame for three purposes. 1) When you press it, it adds a credit for whichever player presses theirs. And 2) When you press it it starts a game for whichever player. 3) Player 1 start is the select button for the front end to choose a game.

I just find it to be the simplest and most intuitive way to set it up. I never have to explain to new people who to play games. So without them I'll need to come up with another way to go about it. So what size hole cutter do I need? :)

I have a spare konami 4plyr cp top I routed using the original undrilled you pay shipping and its yours.

My X-Men PCB I beleive is the Asian version which does require a start button. I had to drill my CP and wire them myself. It wasn't that big of a deal.

X-Men, TMNT, Simpsons. The Tetris that I have has start buttons mounted but they do the same thing as the "rotate" buttons. As you may have guessed, the "rotate" buttons also act as start buttons.

Thanks guys. Any good tips for drilling new holes in a CP that already has a nice overlay that you don't want to screw up?
