Can anyone help me troubleshoot why the the left screen (the monitor that is on the bottom and reflects the image) isn;t working.

Sure..... typically means it's broken.

j/k
Just need to know a little more information about the monitor first, like make/model, etc.
Probably a K7000 variety.

Have you checked to see if any fuses are blown?
Is it getting power?
Does the neck glow?
Will the video cable reach the other monitor to make sure it's getting a good video signal?

i'll check the monitor when i get over the garage. it does seem like its getting power and the neck is glowing.

i am extremely green to this so if you could point me to where to look and such i could check more into it for you.

neck glow is good. if it's there. lol

track down the remote adjustment board, see if it's not a case of the brightness being turned all the way down or something stupid like that. if that doesn't get it, pop open the back door and turn the Screen adjustment up on the flyback, see if you get anything then. best bet is to get a child or a friend or an enemy to watch the screen to see if anything changes.

oh, and I don't know how difficult it is to get at the screen adjustments on those, since they're mounted flat. you might not even have a remote board, all the adjustment pots might be at the chassis.

pictures will help. and if those sound uber vague, don't be ashamed to let us know that. :)

did you cut/pinch/unplug your video cable opening or closing the front half of the cabinet? 1 video comes from the jamma connector, the other plugs into the pcb.

swap video cables to the 2 monitors see if there is a difference.

once you get the problem solved, pull those k7000 chassis and recap them.

can you believe loose wires..i am an ass. i have one more problem with the game thou. it seems as if its hardwired from the plug in. the switch doesn;t work. the only way for it to turn on is by plugging it in. i picked up the machine for 25 bucks last year and finally got around to getting it to work.

Sounds like someone replaced the original computer style power supply with a different one. Mine is like that too, but luckily the person kept the on/off switch wired in. Do you see any wires hanging from that on/off switch on the inside of the cabinet? Probably a 2 or 3 pin connector with wires connected to nothing?
