JUST PICKED up a x-files machine for my collection.when i turn it on it goes right into multiball or other times the fileing cabinate just keeps going up and down and game willnt start.anyone have a idea.i looked at marvin repair pages but there no repair listing for the newer sega machines

Have you put it in switch test? Sounds like you might have some opto's acting up.

Is it going into multiball, or just shooting out balls when you turn on the machine? Sounds like it's doing either a ball search, or attempting to kick balls out of the cabinet or something. Definitely a switch or opto issue.

The game thinks a.) There aren't enough balls, so it's searching for more or b.) It thinks there's a ball where there shouldn't be one upon powerup, so it's trying to reload them all into the trough.
