OK so I was just talking to head repair guy at my uncle's shop. He said that Wrestlefest was a conversion kit for their machines. He said Wrestlefest may have been sold as an original cabinet though. Does anyone know if it was sold from the manufacturer as a Wrestlefest machine (100% sure in a "yes" answer) and not just a conversion? Also if it was sold as an original machine what joysticks came with it, glossy and slippery or textured and dull? I want to get the control panel to look original again. Also does anyone know where I could get Wrestlefest NOS side art or reproduction sideart besides ebay?

Thanks, Danny

If I remember correctly, it came with the textured joysticks. It's been a while since I've sold mine. Also, difference between TMNT & Wrestlefest cabs, the vents for audio speaker(s) below the marquee. TMNT had 1, Wrestlefest had 2:

It truly is, in the flesh...er, wood. That Sundance incident had nothing on what I went through for this bad boy :)

That was back when I was new to the hobby, just bought a Paradise Arcade multi, and was using the cab to play it until it's own cab was ready. And let's face it, the R-Type ship would whoop a$$ all over the Legion of Doom.....all......day.....long......................

Most of the stuff you need to know can be found here.

Finding sideart even on ebay is almost as rare as it would be to find Jimmy Hoffa. Keep your eyes and ears everywhere, and it may pop up sometime this year. Good luck! :)

R-Type's a lot of fun, doesn't matter what cab it's played in :)

Yea, OZ was being funny, good catch to, I'm sure a few have over looked that.
