I picked this up on Sunday. I think it's a nice bit of nostalgia, since most of these people are not around anymore.

Anyway it was playing blind, and I have a few spare monitors. So after swapping it out and replacing the power cord, I have it up and running well.

I gave it a good cleaning then ordered some new joysticks, and t-molding to give it a little bling.

But I'm posting here to ask for help identifying what this was originally. I think it's mid to late 80's Atari, that's about it. Weird thing is the marque doesn't actually have a light source, so it never was intended to be lit from behind? Wait, maybe Rolling Thunder?

I like it! Im a big old school wwf fan myself. My 3p wrestlefest gets alot of play around here. Its a shame half the roster is already dead

I thought Rolling Thunder before you mentioned it.

Tatanka is my trainer at the pro wrestling school I go to. I love 80s/early 90s wrestling!

Awesome! That's cool to see he's still involved in wrestling. I love the late 80's and early 90's WWF too!

@jpkiller: I would agree the cab looks like a Rolling Thunder.

Wwe.com posted an article today about the old wrestlefest arcade game. Its worth a read if your a fan of both worlds

BTW tell Tatanka thanks for some very great memories. I was very entertained and thoroughly enjoyed wrestling when I was younger and he was definitely a part of those memories.

Tatanka was back in the WWE back in 2007 or so on Smackdown .

Allso a wrestling fan since 1984 .. I love my WWF Superstars machine .

LOVE Tatanka!!!! wasn't he intercontinental champ quality back in the day?

He was supposed to beat Shawn Michaels for the title at WM 8? I think it was, but Shawn bitched and complained to Vince so he made Tatanka win with a DQ.
Tatanka is an awesome guy who I haven't heard say a negative thing about anyone.

He has had nothing but good things to say about his life in wrestling.

Hows this machine coming anyway?

I agree HBK is an amazing wrestler, Y2J vs HBK was epic!

Ive only met a few famous wrestlers.. Shane Douglas is a really nice guy.

Yep i was there for that Match in WM 19 Live from Seattle . That match and the last 2 taker/hbk matches are the greatest of all time if you ask me .

Its not exactly a gem, but it's a good game, much fun to be had in two player. I added two Happ microswitch controllers, they do a nice job. Made the choice to go with the chrome t-molding and as you can see, it's ghetto fabulous. Something I didn't expect, I'm happy to own this game, it's fun, and nostalgic.

Looks good man! I have a lot of memories playing Superstars back in the day as well as WrestleFest. :)

The feud between Tatanka and Rick "The Model" Martel was great. If I recall correctly, those 2 had a very entertaining match where they wore hoods over their heads. Wrestling sucks today compared to the 80's and 90's.

Oh, nice video game, too. LOL.

Also a fan of old school wrestling. I'm a Savage man. Dude blew everyone out of the water when it came to presence and wrestling style in the early 80's (and his later career). Played the crazed bully role insanely well. I wish there was more of his Memphis era stuff available.

I have my Superstars project just because of the old school presentation and Savage. Obviously being a fun game helps as well.

That chrome molding looks surprisingly great on this machine. Great job, i hope to get this game someday. (used to have one that had some issues and i sold it cause i never had time to mess with it.) Wish i still had it now :-(

Gold molding also would have been a nice choice.

If you're going to own one wrestling game, this is probably one of the better ones being made by Technos and all.

Big wrestling fan btw even of the new stuff (although it pales in comparison to the 80s/90s stuff). Saw the first Taker/HBK at WM25 in Houston. Kind of drawn out (lots of devaluing of the finishers like 2x kick outs for each from the Tombstone and Superkick), but epic nonetheless.
