I picked up my first pin the other day against better advice I was given. It's a WWF Royal Rumble and its missing 3 of the 4 boards. I was told there are 8 machines that use the same boards. Anyone know what games used these boards so I can start putting this dude back together?

Which boards are missing. DE boards are very interchangeable. The only one on that game that is somewhat hard to find is the sound board.

Power Playfield Board:

MPU / Driver Board:

DMD Power Supply Board:

The Power and MPU are in stock, the DMD board you can get from resellers. They aren't original but they should work. However, they total about $500. If you got the game for $200 or less you should be in good shape. You could probably find some cheaper deals used, the MPU board is about $300 of it so maybe try to find a used on of those.

Sounds like you're missing the MPU, power supply and DMD controller.

As Lindsey mentioned, do you have the DMD controller that is on the back of the display. I forgot, but they are also hard to find and expensive. Having the sound board is a definite plus.

It sounds like you are missing the power supply, playfield power board, and the CPU. Is this right?

Pics and info on the boards here:

Awesome info guys, thanks very much. Looks like it has the sound board. At the end of the day I have $100 in it. But it needs alot of work including top glass. Is there a certain size/type of glass to ask for when I get the glass made?

I hate to rain on your parade, but the cost of the boards you need to fix the machine exceed the worth of the machine.

how so? It is easily a $1000 game. The boards he needs was quoted to him for $500 new, and he has $100 into it. So for $600 he has a $1000 game. Seems like he comes out ahead if you dont count time into it. Would love to pick up a royal rumble like that!

Sorry but I was gonna say the same thing. Royal Rumble is very underrated and a good pin worth $1000 all day long. Pop in new boards or find used ones on ebay and get a new tempered glass for $50...go to a local glass shop and they'll gladly take care of you.

LOL. I was just wondering why he was thinking what he was. No disrespect what so ever. Ken has helped me out specifically a few times and numerous others by reading what he wrote to others in the forum.

I was just kidding obviously. As for the Rumble pin I would assume that to a collector it would be worth about $900-1100 as well if the pf is in good shape, and the addition of reliable new repro boards is a plus to most people.

This game was a "dog". We could not make any money with it on the route. We got rid of ours because noboby would play it. We tried everything, setting difficulty down, quarter a play pricing, frequent route rotation, etc. It was working, just nobody wanted to play it.

We couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

I have to agree with Ken on this one about operating the game. The only thing I have seen on this game is that those who like WWF will pay for the theme. I personally can't see paying much for it because the game doesn't appeal to me, theme or game play. Truly it is all about finding the right seller.

Long term project

I hate to rain on your parade, but the cost of the boards you need to fix the machine exceed the worth of the machine.

I'm taking a positive approach, I can't drop a $1000 on a complete machine (wife) (garage full of games) so for me this is like layaway. And even if I was out a couple hundred, the knowledge I may gain by doing the cleaning/restoration may save me a house call down the road. Worse case it'll make one heck of a coffee table in my game room.:p
