Hey folks,
I have a Wurlitzer 1400 that was restored about a decade ago. It was used in my home, then moved a couple times, and is now living in my living room. Unfortunately, the moves were done in a hurry and proper protocol (locking things down, etc) wasn't followed. The machine wasn't abused, but I'm now trying to troubleshoot a problem…
Effectively, where I am is this: I am stuck in a loop where the record lift rod keeps trying to lift a record, engages the clamp, tone arms come out, attempts to play, but there's no record there BECAUSE none of the platters pop out during the loading process. The whole sequence repeats over and over, with no coins inserted, no selection made, and no tray popping out – but otherwise mostly functional. Does anyone have any advice here? Is something stuck and needs lubrication? A link needs adjusting? Any help greatly appreciated!
