Hello all,

I have a very nice RFM that I would like to trade for a SWE1. The RFM works fine and is in very nice condition. It has new rubber rings, and I've replaced any burned out bulbs and polished the playfield.

Here are some pictures of the game:

If you're interested in a trade, you can reach me at blainelocklair at mac dot com and we'll see what we can work out. I'm in South Carolina, but would consider some travel to help make things happen.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you played SWE1 alot? Unless you have 2 RFM machines, you're really getting the short end of this deal.

I don't know the specifics....maybe you got the RFM for a song, I have no idea, but people tend to place a higher value on RFM. If you like RFM, you could probably find a nice SWE1 kit to put in there. Then you can have 2 games but only use 1 space.

Please understand that I am not trying to talk you out of anything here. I personally love SWE1, and own a kit to put in my RFM.

I hope you can find what you are looking for and a nice machine that you will enjoy for a long time. I like to see others express some SWE1 love, so that was nice to see :)

Good luck with your transaction! I would think you would not have much trouble finding someone to make that trade.

Agreed. RFM is considered to be the more desirable pin of the two. I've played SWE1 for about 11 of the 12 years it's been out now, and that was what I really wanted at the time I bought the RFM. I like RFM, but SWE1 is on my A list of games for my game room. I won't miss the RFM, and my six year old son is a Star Wars junkie, so he'll be thrilled with the trade as well.

I've been trying to make my game room into the exact A list titles that I truly want. I've spent time over the years buying "filler" games, and they've been fun, but I want to get the ones that I want for the long haul. SWE1 is one of those games, so I'm willing to make the trade if the right owner is out there. I guess that if the trade doesn't work out, I can either sell it or buy the kit. I'm confident that if I convert the RFM to SWE1 that it'll always stay in SWE1 mode, so I might as well get the SWE1.

Thanks for your input into this. I think you're right - someone will be willing to make this trade to get the RFM. It's quite nice, and it'll make a nice addition to someone's collection.

Well that is a logical explination :)

I hope you can find the right SWE1 that will make you, your son, and yuor game room happy :)

I was not meaning to condescent to you at all if it came across that way. You just don't normally see a Pin2000 trade this direction.

Good luck! You may also want to post on RGP as well if you have not already. People there seem to really like RFM.

Hi Chris,

No worries, man. I didn't take it any way but positive. Anyone that knows me knows that I'm always positive. And you're right, these trades usually go in the other direction. I almost always find myself willing to take a small loss to get the things that I truly want out of the gaming hobby. We've all had deals that made us money, and deals that made the other person money, but they all seem to balance out overall.

I cross-posted on RGP. Interestingly, the best offer to date came from a fellow KLOVer. RGP is great, but so is KLOV!

I think everyone agrees that RFM is a better playing pinball, but price-wise, SWE1 has generally commanded a bit of a premium (~$200) over it... simply because it is Star Wars. Although these recent stats seem to indicate that they're about equal now: http://www.bostonpinball.biz/ebay0511.htm
A straight-up trade seems fair to me. I own both and don't plan on selling/trading either one. :D

I ran all of the self tests a few days ago. Every light bulb worked, every ROM tested good, and only one switch showed a problem - the (only) drop target switch. It tested good when I bridged the connections. Everything else tested 100% perfect.

Still available, but offers are coming in! "So don't delay, act now, supplies are running out!" :)
