And that's "Find," before any of the inappropriate comments start up...

Shipping a Space Wars from the top-right of CO to me is pretty outrageous. I checked Phet's awesome find - SPEE DEE Delivery, and they don't drive anywhere near this part o' teh country. :(

Is there any chance in hell that anyone on here is driving along this route any time soon? Jim (Cleverly) agreed to help me with this hopeful get by inspecting and putting on a palette if needed. But he can't drive it here, and it will take me forever to plan/schedule such a long trip... :(

I know it's a long shot, but figured I'd see if any KLOV brothas could help me out, that might already be driving on a similar path...

Jim drinks. A lot. Just promise him a bottle of Yukon Jack and meet him at the 4 corners. He'll have the bottle gone before he gets home, but you'll have your game at least.

Thanks for that! (I, too, enjoy a nip from the YJ every now and again...)

Heeeyyyyy, Jim, ol' buddy, ol' pal... How does what Shawn said sound to you, huh? :D

Very scary what kinds of images popped up in Google Images when I searched for "Yukon Jack"...

Also... I am talking with a good friend of mine in Brighton that might be able to store it temporarily, if you can get it over to her, Jim... (Begging, puppy dog eyes) And Yukon Jack would be included, of course. I think that's about 45 minutes from where the game is.

And visiting Vicki adds more motivation to go pick it up! ;)

Here is the Google Maps I edited to show 3 different routes to there, I've never driven through CO, and have also never driven through snow or ice... Is the safest route the one to the far right?

I would stay as far south as long as you can...which would be the right hand route....you might want to head up to Flagstaff first though and then cut over east.

I drove to Denver once when my sister lived there probably 8 years ago. We broke it up into 2 days going up there, and went east on the 60 and then north on mostly 2 lane highways with a stop in the petrified forest. There was also a really cool canyon that we went through....kind of a mini grand canyon. I can go back and find the exact route if you are interested.

Then we hit that major highway up north going east to Albuquerque and spent the night there.

We were heading there for Xmas...so we did see some snow....mostly once we got into Colorado and the higher elevations.

Coming back we did it in one day, back down through Albuquerque and then to Flagstaff and down to PHX.

I think you will make better time going through Flagstaff, than cross county in Arizona....I couldn't really see the actual route on your google map, but it kinda looked like what we did. So....probably faster thru Flag, but I do recommend the slower route if you have time to look at some scenery....

There's a lot of nothingness between here and Denver....it is not the most exciting drive.

Fed that through Google, and it claims to add almost an hour, though...?

hey now. i'm doing it in moderation these days. i stop for a couple weeks. then have a drink or two a night for a week for two. then repeat. but it's way better than it used to be.

i would probably stick to the i-70 way. all three routes have you going through mountains, and it is winter. the i-25 route runs parallel to the mountains pretty much from the new mexico border into denver. however, you'll need to deal with mountains through the northern part of new mexico into probably the first 20 miles of colorado.

the 160 route is a state highway that runs through the valleys in the mountains, and usually the roads up there are the shittiest.

i70 would be your best route. you only have to really be concerned with vail pass and loveland pass, but as long as you do it in the daytime the highway's generally clear.

and quite frankly, my in laws are outside of aspen, and the nearest exit off i-70 from there is 116 which is glenwood springs. i'd be willing to trek the thing to glenwood springs or a little further and meet you there for the swap, which would shave 150-200 miles off the trip for you, and you wouldn't have to do very much driving through the mountains either. that'd keep the colo driving to a minimum.

also, like i've said, i can hold it or move it around or whatever on my end. if you want it in brighton, let me know when and i can get it there from longmont.

Jim, have I told you lately that you're the man? :D Ok, I PM'd you, and am going to see if I can pull this off! Would you feel comfortable paying the guy with cash, and then I'd hand you cash when I saw you? And/or I can Paypal you... (Ugh, fees) or let me know what works best. Since you'd be inspecting the thing, I don't want the seller getting the money before you've seen it...

If Jim doesn't work out for you...take the far right road through ABQ is what I have heard is the easiest and you will have less mountain passes as well...I would not do I-70 this time of year as you never know what the snow will be like. Pretty drive, but not worth the snow.
