I seem to always have great success selling arcade machines and parts to out of state buyers. I've shipped more than 15-20 games to other parts of the country and most every time the buyer has been great. Locally though, I am batting like nearly zero. I have had at least 4 pretty decent sized local KLOV deals fall apart in the last few Weeks. These are guys that contacted me first to make the deal, string me along right up to the time of pick up and then either back out or disappear. Sucks that i can't make a decent local deal anymore. Most sellers always say 'prefer local pick up'. Not this one. I'm gonna start adding this to all my FS ads: "prefer to ship, out of state buyers only". I know I'm just ranting, but it is pretty annoying, especially when Winters coming and I gotta make room for the wife's vehicles. *sigh*

coming from someone no where near local to you, I like your stance on out of state buyers :D

I dunno, I seem to have decent success on either side, but really the only person I have had dealings with locally is DreamTR. I buy more than sell and most of the items I buy are far :(

Stealthie rolled over to my place last night and hung for awhile and at some point your work as a 'restorer' came up. Both of us commented on wanting to get our hands on one of your restores at some point.

So out of state will probably keep being strong. :)

yup, that is why I started these new requirements in my game FS posts:

**NEW REQUIREMENTS for purchase**

You must send me a $25 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT to hold the game.

I must have a written and signed statement faxed to me from you mom, wife, girlfriend or S.O. that states its ok for you to make the trip to pick up the game.
I will provide my fax number once the deposit is made.

I have bought 4 games from CL. 1 buy I backed out on. I had the money, the transportation but wife's Van crapped out and 2 of 3 kids had a ER visit in 1 week. I emailed and text the seller and never heard back. I offered telling collectors, local friends and every thing to recoup not picking up the game. The guy took down the ad and everything. I think 1 out of 5 deals in 8 months isn't bad for rep I hope.

Perfect, I think I'm gonna as this to my FS posts as well....

I have in the last few months had multiple people from klov contact me about various machines. Many of which I had to drag out of storage and take detailed pictures of (yes, taylormadelv I am still going to get those missile command pictures to you eventually).

In a couple of cases they even made direct offers that I accepted. Although one guy I just couldn't come to an agreement with, he is more of a dealer than a collector and seemed to want to value his part of the trade in question at retail and my part at wholesale.

I still have all the machines in question.

Well I have driven to SC three times, Green Bay Wisconsin, Cape may NJ and Long Island NY to pick up games and I have never been one minute late. I think losers will continue to be losers no matter where you go or how far they are.

At least I'm not the only one who's gotta clear the garage for the wife this winter!

I think I can somewhat explain what happens... When you sell something that is getting shipped, you're dealing with someone who is looking for something very particular and maybe having trouble finding it. They have set the money aside waiting for a deal. Sometimes shipping is half the price or more of the game, you need to want something bad to do that.

When you get someone local, its often a case of stumbling across something you have for sale. They jump at the deal because its close even if they're not quite prepared, hoping to negotiate or get money together on short notice.

I keep a little money aside if something I know I want becomes available locally without notice, but I know that "holy shit!" feeling of seeing something you want really bad come up locally when you're not ready for it.

I had a KLOVer contact me, was persistent even though I was up to my eyeballs in work/school/home. Pretty much bugged me for a couple of weeks until I just finally dug through some boxes, tested everything, boxed it all up and a few hours after I tracked everything down, he told me he was out of money.

It was for less than $30 in stuff.

Can I buy it? What is it? Do you have pics? Does it work? How long have you had it? Where did you get it? Is it complete? Is it NOS? Is it original or is it repro? Does it come with the case? Does it have any accessories? Has it ever been worked on? Are you flexible on price? Do you want to barter? Can I send you money via Paypal? Can you hold it for me? Can you send more pics? What about the back side? Do you have the manuals for it? Will you ship it? Do you have more?
