I am looking for a working Xybots joystick. If you've got one (or two), pm me with price + shipping to 77396.

Thanks,

ken

did you want AS IS or refurbished?

I would just like to get one that is working. Price is a consideration as I am not sure I will be keeping it and they really are not bringing much in this market. Working 100% = $250. Anything not working = much less.

I saw this hit ebay.. Item number: 280425849106

If that is the Xybots control panel, I have been in contact with the seller. He doesn't know anything about them so he is not sure the joysticks are working. He wouldn't sell them directly to me, but he did at least relist them. I am hoping nobody else wants them. They didn't go anywhere the last time.

Thanks for the replies. I do appreciate it. Hopefully, I can get the Ebay auction and one of the joysticks works or I can find out what is binding in the player 1 joystick I have.

It is kind of an interesting game. A Wolfenstein style semi-first person Berzerk. If I can get the player one control working, I may keep it. I dropped a rebuilt 4600 into it after reworking the monitor mount. I rewired the power for the monitor back through the iso as the last person to work on it wired the previous monitor (a Sanyo EZ20) directly to the 120VAC off the switch (it was connected to the 120VAC input of the switcher). It looks great now and the sound is great (resoldered a broken cap in the sound section), but that player 1 control is really hosed. You can't move right. and forward is a little sticky. Player 2 is much better, it is just stiff. I'll probably take it apart put some lithium grease on it where the manual indicates lubrication.

The case needs some work. It looks like somebody dropped it at some point in time, so there is some bondo work coming as well s making a new upper back door. And then there is the marquee light...........

Actually there isn't much to them. There are two parts that go bad. First if the stick is binding or won't self center, you need to replace the white nylon cup. You can lube it all you want, but once this is worn, the stick won't work right.

Second, the rubber o-ring deteriotes that hits the switches. This can be replaced with a pinball flipper rubber or a standard pinball rubber ring.

Other than that, the rest of the stick is very robust. The nylon cup is the same as what is used in an atari system one game (so they are available).

I went from two sloppy joysticks, to two sticks that are like brand new.

Thanks for the info. I pulled the manuals last night but was too tired to take the CP apart. One thing you have to hand Atari, their docs were detailed.

I'll just went out and it looks like Ram Controls is reproducing most of the nylon pieces from the inside, so if those are messed up, I can still get replacements (repros).

Now I'm pumped. Hopefully I can get out of here at a decent hour and try taking the player 1 joysick apart and get it running right again.
