Hey Dave, I want this next statement to come across respectfully. I have seen you catch a lot of shit, and it doesn't seem completely warranted. So I do not want this to come across like I am piling on as well.

You seem like an all right guy.

I am curious if you are actually coining up and playing the games with a joystick and buttons, when you call them 100% working or not?

I have received 3 pcb's from people that were thrown in a test rig but game play was not tested, and the game was shit upon coining up and playing.

The intro screen looked great in all instances.

yes.. i have a check list of what i test befor i sell them

1: look of pcb/fix missing parts if any
2: picture
3: sound
4: coin up
5: play

Tron guy, I hear what your saying. I know alot of guys selling boards on ebay just fire the board up and if they see a picture they call it working. I just bought a pacland pcb the other day that booted up fine but the start button wouldnt function. I pull out the schematics and wouldnt you know someone had replaced a few components but didnt figure out the problem. Looking at the output on one of the replaced chips I found a broken trace on the pcb.

Back to the jamma adapters. I bought a ton of jammaboards adapter pcbs, they are really nice and speed up the process of making adapters. But still, making adapters can be time consuming so unless you have a bunch of spare time just buy some premade ones and be done with it. I bet if you visit jammaboards they will work out a deal with you if you buy a bunch at once. They have fair qty discounts on alot of their products.

cool thanks for the info riptor

riptor i heard yer the man around here that fixes all the broken pcb's

are u able to fix pcbs that have super small solider points? i have one that has a chip pulled up from the pcb...
lmk

Not really THE man but I do fix a few here and there. If its surface mount, not at this time. I have the equipment to do it but need to invest in all the required tips before I really start messing with it. If its thru-hole, yeah doesnt really matter how small the solder pads/traces are. I find these are actually easier to work with since less heat is required.
If its surface mount there are a few people here that can help you. One name that comes to mind is channelmanic. Im sure spaeth or jrok could help you on this too.
PM me and let me know what kind of pcb it is and I will let you know if I can help.

cool cool thanks! to let eveyone knw i just placed a $100 oder @ jammaboards.com

thanks for the link!

Next time you spend $100 with JB, just buy the DIY adaptors and connectors (about $3-5 each set) and get yourself some wire and build your own. Much cheaper in the long run, and they work just fine. Don't take long to build, either...

yah thats what i bought! the diy adapters, MUCH cheaper! and i love to solider! i just kept seeing things i wanted to buy.. lol thats how i got up to $100 lol
