WTB - Working Zoo Keeper PCB(s). Will pay $$$$$$ What do you have?

I just want this sh*t working. Looking to buy a working Zoo Keeper PCB set and will pay cash for it. Name a price and if it's cool, I am in. Sell me this!

i told your dumbass to send me your boardset. i can probably fix it.

jon

I have been trying to fix it myself and I don't want to give up the board just yet as it is working and is playable. It just has glitches.

If someone has a working board I would love to buy it and then I can have my current board as a spare. Just exploring my options.

Hi, my name is John. I will still pay good cash money for a working Zoo Keeper board set. Thank you for reading this post.

Yours truly,

Sir John JingleHimerSchmidt IV

IN zookeepers if it plays fine otherwise but glitches i'm guessing it's a harness problem more than a board problem. Those pins in the connectors corrode/wear out and make intermittent or not strong enough contact all the time. Step one for me would be to repin the connectors. If it's pins causing your problem throwing more boards at it won't fix it.

May be a dumb question BUT John, why don't you just send the board out to have fixed? Especially if you have trouble finding one... There's gotta be some Taito gurus out there that can help you.

I can't help myself. After seeing another one running, I want one too.

I'll throw my hat into the ring for ONLY a ROM Aux board. (long skinny one)

Thanks

I have John's board here. It has some major issues, mostly due to the fact that it has a lot of battery acid damage underneath sockets. I find there to be more issues with the CPU pcb than harness issues with these. Ive probably owned 8 Zookeepers, they all have bad power supplies and bad cpu boards it seems.

Jon,

You are correct about the cpu pcbs.. I've got 5 here that I thought were decent, but acid has eaten away at the sockets :(

Also, the original ribbon cables are problematic.. As they are old, brittle, and worn.. Seems like just replacing them all with new 50pin cables is the way to go.. I just got my ZK running last night.. Not perfect, but it's a step in the right direction.. Need to source the cables and make new molex connectors for the harness.. As taito connectors and header pins are major faults..

What kind of price is "cool" to you?

Seriously, if I had an extra working ZK PCB (with as big of a pain as they are to find) it would probably come with a $350-$400 price tag.

If a SPO PCB is priced at $800, I would think a $400 ZK PCB isn't out of the question, right?
