WTB: Working video board for Virtua Racing / Virtua Fighter (Sega Model 1)

My search is currently on hold pending picking one up from Angry_Radish. I'll know sometime in the next week if it will work out... Thanks all.

I am in need of a known working video board (or an entire boardset for VR) for a Sega Model 1 game (i.e. Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing). My VR I just picked up has some graphics issues that I have been told need to have the video board replaced. Let me know what you've got and how much you want for it.

Also willing to trade for anything from my for sale thread here:

Could be a bad ROM too... Have you tried reseating the boards and checking the ROM checksums?

I did try reseating the roms (all 30 or so of them) but lack the necessary equipment to check the rom checksums. I am going to do a little more investigating before I go ahead and pick up a new boardset but the only offers I've received are about twice as much as I was told to expect to spend on this boardset. I'll find one. Fortunately, the game does work even with the messed up graphics so I don't have that need to find a boardset right away. I will wait until somebody has one for sale within my price range (up to about $75 shipped for a working boardset).

From what I've read it is probably just a rom issue that is messing up the graphics but it sounds like the only company that produced this particular rom no longer has them available. I need the craziness of the holiday weekend to be over so I have some more time to mess around with this game to see what I find.

Show me what the video board looks like. I might have one I can sell you.

Here is a pic of just the video board. On VR it is the bottom board of the 3-board stack.

I have a virtua fighter with a a bad power supply. I could put it back together and test the board if your interested/still need it.

My plans are to gut it to make it into a neo geo 4 slot. If someone wants to save it as VF, let me know. you will probabloy have to scare up your on medium rez monitor.

Thanks for the offer. I'm just going down the line for offers I've received to see if they are a "go" or not. If I don't have anything set in a couple days I will get ahold of you.

BUT... (for anyone else)... I would prefer to find a full working VR boardset over just the video board. Having a spare of the entire thing wouldn't be a bad idea... just don't want to spend $150 on one... ... ...

In the end, I may end up trying to find as many of these boardsets as I can to assure my cab's performance for awhile. :)
