Restoring a Tempest and need a complete WG6100 monitor. Preferably working although minor projects are ok.

I'm in the Tampa, FL area, so preferably within a couple of hours of here would be great. Not sure shipping one of these is worth anyone's trouble.

Bit of a tall order to get a 6100 by itself, but possible. You could also look into one of the Shilmover kits to make a vector monitor out of a regular tv tube/yoke.

Yeah I know it's going to be an uphill battle, but I'd really like to keep this as original as possible. Or maybe find a decent deal on a complete game and just forego the project (but I haven't reached that level yet).

You will need patience, persistence, and cash ready.

There are actually lots of them out there. (Many people here have one or more spares.) But people hang onto them, so shaking one loose is the harder part.

They also do come up for sale here, though people typically aren't willing to ship. However if you are patient, I'm sure you can find one local.

Also, if you can find a dead one (even with trashed boards, as long as the tube is intact), I refurb the boards. The boards can all be saved, no matter the condition. PM anytime for details.

Well I guess if there's another run of the Shilmover kits you could give that a shot. I recently put together a Quantum and before finding a Tempest to convert I put one together. Rewinding the yoke is a bit time consuming but did get a pretty good picture. Definitely get wanting to keep it original, but could make for a stopgap till you find a 6100.

Barry's kit has the potential for a much better picture than a WG 6100. Don't feel the need to switch if you find yourself with a good homebrew monitor.
