My Gauntlet Legends monitor (27") went to the great arcade in the sky. I got the Unico LCD replacement but after a year of usage it just isn't the same. I've bought seven TVs off of CL and none of them have been swap compatible, so I need some help from the community.

I have a fully functional WG k7500 chassis. I'd like to either buy a compatible tube (A68AGD01X) or we can trade your full monitor rig for my chassis plus whatever cash for the tube.

Dammit thought I fixed my profile to show that. I'm in southeastern Wisconsin.

Red gun fizzled out and when I took it out to rejuvenate I accidentally necked the tube.

They've all had bonded yokes, and I couldn't get any of them off without casualties. Quite possible that they could've worked if I got the yoke off...the one that I'm currently wrenching the yoke off of is a A68ADT55X out of a Sharp 27SC26.

I see that is the issue with many donors that size . Too bad there isn't a proven solvent or easy way to get them off .
I believe mine is bonded as well but I'll look later .

Much appreciated. I was able to find a non-bonded flat screen tube (A68LML50X) out of a Panasonic that worked. The convergence on the edges was really bad, and convergence strips didn't help whatsoever.

Failure aside. The positive notes are:
You have a somewhat playable game.
You had the balls to try a Sony style flat even though lots of posts saying not worth it.
Now there's a nice visual representation posted of what you get with a flat tube . ( makes perfect sense too that it would look just like that )
I applaud the Franken the work .
I think with proper patience and Dremel like equipment you can make one of those tube ya got work. Just destroy the old yoke a tiny layer at a time.

I'm surprised that the 27" bonded yoke didn't just work with the K7500 chassis. A lot of the "newer" (larger screen monitors) WG monitors used bonded yokes. Did you measure the resistance of the yokes and compare to known values for the 7500 yokes?

I've got a Med Res 25" unit that worked just fine with a bonded yoke donor tube. The original vertical? winding was something like 1.5 ohms and the donor was 3.2.. I adjusted the size difference out using the remote board.

Everyone and their mother on this forum and every other arcade related corner of the internet shout to the heavens that the K7500 chassis requires the K7500 yoke, no exceptions even if the measurements are similar. Maybe that's outdated information...which would be nice because I have two more donors that I could spare slaughtering lol

K. That could be entirely plausible. Don't have any 7500s. If it's so finicky get a different chassis that isn't. Chassis seem to be easier to come by no?

You're thinking far too logically for me /s but yeah that it definitely an option if this tube remains so elusive.

Can anyone confirm that a bonded yoke tube can work with a standard yoke?

Not sure what you're getting at here? Are you asking if the bonded yoke is removed can a standard yoke then be substituted on the tube and it successfully converged?

I can't. I've never done that. I seem to recall a thread where someone tried this. I can't recall the outcome.

Bonded yokes usually have bonded "rings" which you'd also have to remove. So you won't be able to converge the monitor after you swap the yoke, assuming you can actually get the yoke off without damaging the tube. It may be possible to use donor rings. You'd have to experiment to know for sure, but I suspect not.

Test the ohms of the yoke and if within K7000 specs then it may be useful for a standard res. tube swap for a game that had a 27" standard res. monitor K7000/U2000/K74000/U5000.

K7500 needs a K7500 yoke. A standard res. or standard TV yoke will work for testing purposes to see if the monitor runs, but will eventually cause a failure in the chassis.

Yes, That is the idea. Just curious to know if anybody actually got this to work. Because I remember some discussion awhile back about the tubes being unique to the bonded yokes and if this would be difficult or not work at all.

I have a polo tube with a bonded yoke and it looks a bit different than say a standard tube with a k7000 yoke/rings. I couldn't find any confirmation so I ended up just using a k7000 chassis which works fine. Plus I didn't want to mess with it.

So this is slightly different but is in support of @behrmr's comments: I've found that 19" tubes that have the Yoke and Rings integrated (one unit, such as a K7635) do not work with yoke/rings that are separate/individual components.
