Hoping to find the following:

Time Pilot marquee - Centuri or Konami, no scratches/speckles
Time Pilot CPO - NOS or repro so long as it looks like the original
Time Pilot sideart - a long shot I know but..

Thanks,

M.O.

Hey man- andykmv and myself are looking to get the side art reproduced. We have a few leads on NOS art to scan- I'll keep you updated. If you end up finding side art before we do, can you scan it or let us scan it?

Thanks!
Jon

dang, part of me would love to have nice, clean sideart on my TP, but then again the scratched and faded art also tells some history of the cab. and at least it's complete.

No problem Jon.. keep me posted if you do get it reproed. Mine currently has "Boston" scrawled next to one of the flying saucers, has lots of tears and is very faded.

I'm sure the black magic of Photoshop can correct it. Photoshop can do anything.

Hey gang, I just picked up a really nice TP for a friend of mine yesterday. The side art on one side is faded (but complete) and is very, very nice on the other side (no fading, complete).

I've never scanned side-art before - can anyone tell me how I do it? I'd be happy to attempt it, but I'd need to know what equipment, etc. I'd need and the process involved.

Thanks!

Whitney- you might be our savior for this Time Pilot art!!! I'll PM you with info on it. Also, andykmv on here is leading a charge for art as well, so I'll copy him on my PM.

Not a problem guys. I took some pictures w/ my phone tonight that I'll post up so you all can see what I'm working with.

I'll get some better pictures tomorrow w/ the Nikon and those will be of much better detail.

I'm happy to help if you all think the side-art is worth the scanning effort. I think it will be, as it is complete and in good shape.

Subscribing to this thread as well to stay tuned... I have the sides off a cab with full sideart... in bad shape, but it is here for reference if needed...

Ok gang, here's the pictures I took tonight w/ my Nikon. I went ahead and tossed the pictures I took on my phone - they were crap.

The forum apparantly restricts the size of uploaded files, so if anyone wants to see bigger/more detailed pictures let me know and I'll post them on my blog and link to them here. The first two pictures look a little fuzzy, but that's only because they were rotated and then resized... the original are sharp as a tack. The first picture (left side) is of the 'faded' side-art... the colors in the top logo are washed out a bit, and the entire art looks 'light' compared to the second picture (right side) which looks awesome color-wise.

There is a bit of water damage to the bottom of the cabinet, and the bottom corners are a bit wrinkled, but I think the art would still scan fine and clean up great in Photoshop.

Let me know if you guys think this is worth scanning. I'm willing to do it if you guys want it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm happy to scan what I have, but will need to acquire the scanning equipment, as I have none at this time.

Does anyone have recommendations as to the best hardware to use for this?

I may give this a whirl too, but my sideart isn't as nice... what's the general attempt here?

Scan and stitch full size sideart then clean and attempt to print or what?

As I've told Whitney in PM's- there are a bunch of us on here looking to reproduce the Time Pilot artwork. We all discussed pitching in for the scanning equipment. Here's a nice article on how to do the scanning and what it all entails: http://www.rotheblog.com/2008/04/tutorials-arcade/scanning-arcade-game-sideart/ I'll be happy to contribute some $ and I'll volunteer to do the clean up work in Photoshop.

Oh yeah, your art is perfect for scanning- best I've seen yet.

Yeah, this should work out well. I've read the (excellent) article on Jeff's site. I now just need to find a scanner that will fit the bill. I was curious if anyone knew of a preferred model.

I'll do some research on scanner models and get back in touch with the thread and we can then talk about specifics if anyone wants to donate to the cause for the scanner.

I definitely don't mind to do the scan work.

Jeff comments on his blog that he has an Epson V200 scanner. Looks like they run about $70-$100.

Ahh.... I see that now - I should have read all the way down to the comments and I would have saved myself the embarassment. ;)

A quick search on Newegg turns up the V300 in that price range as well. I'd say we are in business!

I'm happy to accept donations towards the scanner if anyone is willing, but I also don't expect anyone to do it either. It'd be a nice jesture if anyone decides they would.
