I've had 3 bench monitors die since I moved, the latest being my last Apple IIgs monitor popping its flyback a few days back.

Looking for a another CGA/Multisync monitor that syncs to CGA for my bench. Even if I had a spare 13, I don't really trust open frame monitors near my other equipment.

Pickup-able preferable....

I'm not wanting to give up my 1084s, but when that dies I plan on getting one of those vga converters, have you considered that?

Much easier to plant an LCD on the bench..

A lot of games use slightly funky sync, and I trust an actual monitor to sync to them better and with fewer artifacts than the scan doublers.... I guess they're cheap enough that it's worth a try... I've got plenty of spare computer LCDs kicking around anyway...

...or I could just break open the box of 5" Samtron CGA monitors that I've had kicking around for years...

I'm using one of those VGA converters and the syncing as Mark describes is a Pain.

Off colors, rolling, shifted images. I'm going to break out the 13", build a wooden box around it.

I use a 9" monitor with a bunch of BNC connectors on the back. I had to use a sync separator to break apart the composite sync but it works for everything I've thrown at it.

My backup in case that one fails is a 9" Sony Trinitron broadcast monitor. It has composite, s-video, component, and RGBHV inputs.

I've had 2 13" sony trinitron broadcast monitors shit the bed on me since I moved...
They both power up, but all 4 mode LEDs light dimly and no raster :(

I'd used 'em for about 6 years before that. I had a 19" sony that I gave away because it was just to damn big for the bench...

I have one of those 13" sony broadcast monitors. How do you hook that up to take CGA inputs from a JAMMA harness?

Opps. Hudson's latest post got deleted.

1. He reported posts on this thread
2. I happened to see his report and acted on it within about 90 minutes
3. He posts: "Always best to let attack posts sit around for several days before doing anything about them, eh greggy? .... Useless."
4. Now he has some self-reflection time.
