If anyone has one of these that they'd like to sell, please let me know. My Tempest UR spinner has the 'whrrrrr of death' and I'd like to get ahold of one of the brass repair kits (like what was sold by Aracde Renovations), if anyone has one they'd be willing to part with.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. How's the operation of the spinner w/ the plastic bushings? Seems like they would wear out pretty quickly.

The originals were plastic......actually, it a Nyliner bearing. They are used in all kinds of industrial applications....and come in a variety of sizes. If you could figure out the correct size, you could save yourself a lot of dollars.:)

Marco stocks a lot commonly used is pinballs....one might be the right size.

I can say the operation improved immensly when i cleaned the spinner and replaced the bushings. That was only a couple months ago, and it has not been played a lot since them. I'd expect them to last a long time.

Thanks for the info, Ed. I've gone out and read up a bit on Nyliner, and it seems like a very tough, but well-suited material. I guess it's just hard to get through my head that anything plastic would be a viable alternative to metal. ;)

I'll feel a lot better now about ordering the replacement bushings knowing such.

Very good. I'm going to order a set and service the spinner, so everything should turn out good. Thanks!

I got the plastic ones and they have been working great for over a year. Before that, I used a little 3-in-1 oil and that cleared up the problem for a few months.

I have seen metal shafts that run in plastic bushings wear out twice as much as the plastic does.
If it were me I would machine a bronze bushing for it and be done with it. They didnt build these spinners with enough support on the bottom end, kinda a flaky design. Its not just the atari ones, the Midway ones suffer from the same problem. Shimming out the up and down play helps alot.
