As I am also restoring three Tempest cabarets, I'll dig through my stash for any spare knobs.

Good luck.

BTW, what is the serial number. I'm curious to see where it falls.

I have a Tempest converted to an arkanoid that I am taking apart also!

Thanks for checking. Unfortunately the label was painted over so I can't get the serial, tried carefully removing it but was too far gone. The only way I could tell it was a Tempest was the vent on the top and looking at original CP holes.

Vent on the top, grills on the back, etc. Have you tried any paint thinner on either the front or the back SN sticker? I was fortunately able to get the paint off most of my stickers.

Yeah I tried paint thinner but the label was too far gone. Only the back/top ones remained.

The front is stripped of any stickers and they put a dark piece of tinted plexi over the marquee and where the coin door goes. I had hoped they only painted over the Tempest marquee but it's gone.

On the upside it was only $150. I almost overlooked it as it was listed as 'Orange and black arcade game' and the pictures weren't great.

I'm picking up a tempest to possibly part out on Friday.
Buy it whole minus the monitor for $450 or make an offer on parts.

I am actually picking up a Tempest this week that will need to be sold as parts since the cabinet's bottom got soaked and is not worth saving. It is complete but assume the pcb, power supply and monitor doesn't work. I will have the complete control panel, monitor, harness, pcb, power supply glass, marquee, coin door I will let go.
Harness $250.00
Pcb $400.00
Monitor $500.00
Power supply with transformer if needed $125.00
Glass $100.00
Complete control panel $225.00
All prices include shipping cont u.s. except the monitor...I would guess $100 since I will have to make small crate for it and the weight will be about 75 pounds.
Shipping from 72019
Either Paypal plus 3% or send as gift. Pm with questions.

Thanks for the heads-up but not willing to roll the dice on non-working parts unless they're cheap.

Interested if working, is the monitor sold already? Looking to get the lot in working condition for $800+shipping. I know this is a bit less than individual parts value but it's a no hassle sale without negotiating and shipping to multiple people.

- WG6100
- PCB
- Spinner + original Knob
- AR
- PSU

I've got a pretty nice over under coin door. No bends or dents, both doors open and close smoothly. The coin door harness is a 9-pin Amp connector. This is a Coinco door. There's a lot of metal. Shipping would probably be pretty steep. Here's some pics.

If you unscrew the upper and lower coin slots, and wrap it well in bubblewrap, you can fit the door in a large long USPS Flat Rate Box, for $19.

I ship the standard size coin doors in the medium FRB's all the time with no problems. It's a great deal for the flat rate fee. You just want to use a lot of extra tape when wrapping it up.

Also, $600 shipped for a complete 6100 is a good deal, even if non-working. The boards can be fully rebuilt for $150-200 (or less if you do it yourself). The $100 shipping estimate is about right, if you build a crate for it (which is also how I've done it). If you can keep the box small (roughly under 24x20x18 or so) USPS is good, else you can get larger boxes at U-Haul, and use Fedex (as USPS jumps way up, once you exceed a certain size). With insurance it should be under $110 or so to go cross-country.

Thanks for the info Andy. I believe the last over/under I had shipped off ebay was ~$20-30.

For the rest of the parts if I'm above $800 I think I'll just wait for an upright to pop up. I've had 3 I could have bought within the last 6 months at about my price and I wouldn't have to mess with all the shipping costs.

Yeah, I've done that too. He mentioned wanting the metal coin bucket too. So, also assumed he wanted the "vault" attachment thing also. Sadly,no way that stuff is going anywhere flat rate.

I see the back of your Tempest cabaret has been changed. You should have two vents there to help release the heat.

My recommendation is to replace that piece. Let me know if you need more info.

If any of those Tempest cabinets being parted are cabarets, then I could certainty use a nice glass bezel.

Yeah, it looks like they knocked that out, I'll rebuild a replacement.

Isn't the bezel just tinted glass? I had planned to get a piece cut from One Day Glass. Anything unique about it?

The factory Tempest cabaret bezel is tinted, tempered glass with rounded edges. The most unique thing about it is the color. While graylight 14 is close, it's not as purple as the original. There is a thread here on KLOV discussing the matter.

Interesting. Wonder how it compares to the One Day Glass Light Gray. I recently did some comparisons of plastics and glass for my Asteroids Deluxe cabaret resto:

Good question. Even among other, later color vectors, the Tempest glass color is different (more purple). Based upon the other thread, the later color vector bezels are closer to graylight 14.

Any way to tell if what's on mine is original? Doesn't seem to be tinted much.
