I've got an old Taito cabinet converted to a Pigskin 621a.d., and the 2nd player balltop has broken. It seems to be completely attached to the joystick shaft, not removable, so I need a whole new joystick...

It's a dark green ball top, and I can get pictures if need be, but I guess black would do as well. Or if you have a matching pair you're willing to let go of, let me know.

I have lots of coin doors and buckets to trade. switching power supplies, a few boards, and marquees I could trade if you're interested. Two boards left here: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=95310&highlight=handful

thanks much!

I have three of the black 49-way opticals. They came out of a Blitz 99.

$20 each + shipping.

Or you could buy some new ones from Happ for about $60 each....

That's a good price, but before i dive in, a few questions:

Are the shafts on these interchangable? Since it's just the ball top, i might see if i can stab another joystick in there, but i dunno if that'll work, being optical.

Are these pinouts interchangable? Blitz is way newer than Pigskin, so do you think the pinout from joystick to joystick would be the same?

I dunno? I've taken these things apart before, but I just pulled the joystick shaft out to get the joystick out of the control panel.

I'll take a look and get a pic for ya later...

Mine are weird... the joystick shaft has a rubber grommit attached to it about its middle, that spreads out into a 4-bolt flange that attaches to the plastic base of the assembly. Short of cutting through that really thick rubber on both ends and trying to slide it off, I can't replace that shaft...

So I guess the pinout is the only thing still in question. But I hate to spend 40+ on a game I'm just trying to clear out some space for... might have to though.

I would think you have a sinistar style of stick in there. I am pretty sure you can remove the joystick shaft.

I would recommend you either use the newer 49 way and save the green one, or repalce both. I have a pair of arch rivals 49 ways. (orange ball)

Another possibility is some sort of bolt on ball that would be held in place with a screw..

the base of the green ball joystick is still on there. It broke right as it starts to ball out... so what I might try to do is cut off the rest of the broken green ball, and put another ball on top. Either a bolt-on, or JB Weld that sucker.

I'd like to get new sticks, but the cabinet's not in that great of shape, plus, the old joysticks still works!

Thanks for all the help and potential joysticks. I'll swing by back if my grand scheme doesn't come to fruition.
