EDIT: Nevermind. I got emulators running on my PSP Go. :)

I never got one of these years ago and now I'm regretting it as they are no longer sold anywhere since it's an old product. I think I saw a couple of them on sale on ebay UK a few weeks ago for like $30, but I think they are gone now or were deleted by eBay.

I'd love to be able to run NES/GB games on my GB Micro. If anyone has one or a spare to sell, please let me know how much you want shipped to 94551.

"EZ-FLASH 4 EZCart (GBA Size)
Simple cart for all your NDS and GBA needs.

Works with miniSD. Supports GBA ROMs. Works with slot1 flashcards and provide great GBA games support."

I don't think it runs homebrew though right? It can't play NES/GB emulators. I think it only serves as a GBA emulator. Thanks for the heads up though. RHS is great. I used to buy my Supercards from them years ago. Wish the SC Mini SD had been one of them.

I see. I guess it threw me off because it doesn't mention that it can run emulators and usually they try to tout every little thing that it can do. I'll look into it. Thanks!

Here is a response someone had on the EZ4:

"When I got my EZ4 a year and a half ago I did everything with it that was possible to do.
I experimented with ebooks, picture viewers, emulators, personal organizers, homemade games..."

I never owned one personally, but I know my buddy was reliving tons of NES games on his GBA micro with his EZFlash IV.

Cool beans. I'll most likely go through RHS. Thanks John!

The emulators are built as if they were GBA roms, if that makes sense. As far as the cart sees, they ARE GBA roms.

I have one of these from years back and seem to recall that being how it worked. Mine came with a linker so I could make the roms from my own games and this was before they had mini SD slots in them...I think it had a max of 32MB of internal memory :p I remember you could only fit a max of 2 full GBA games on it...But I had more than enough NES games on it!

For the record, unless things have gotten better, SNES games look like ass due to the resolution of the screen. Most emus have ways of trying to work around it, but none are perfect.

Yeah, if the emulation is through .gba roms, then that's not what I'm looking for. Though, I think you may be right in that's how it runs it. From researching, I can't find that the EZ-Flash cart runs emulators.

From my understanding, the Supercard Mini SD was the last and best cart to do so. I don't care for SNES emulation really since it's probably not good and the Micro doesn't have enough buttons. Just GBA/NES/GB for the Micro.

I don't see the difference - what exactly do you need? In my case, from what I recall, the emulator was a GBA rom (technically), but was still an emulator that plays games as expected. I guess the only "downside" or "difference" that I recall is that you had to compile the GBA rom every time you want to play games. Meaning, you'd select your NES roms and then compile them together as a GBA rom to load on the cart. In other words, it's wasn't as simple as just having a folder with NES roms in it on the cart. That would have been nice, but considering you can put every game ever made on there if you want, it's not like you'd have to compile it all the time :p

I forgot you said you were using the micro, so yeah, SNES would be pointless. The cart I had I quit using once I got a PSP and hacked it. I gave the cart to my gf to use on her Micro and she loved it.

I'd say try to find what you want, but if the price is right and all that really matters is that it can play the games you want, even one of the old ones like mine should suffice.

Oh I see. Yeah, if it compiles all the roms and runs some sort of frontend, then that would suffice. I found a link to PocketNES which does just that. EZ-Flash it is.

Yeah, I sold my PSPs (Phat, Slim, Go) a while ago. But I just like the size of the Micro and the fact that I still have it is reason enough to try and get some NES/GB games on the go.

As you know, it's not entirely practical to play on my Droid X with a Wiimote. :)

Yeah, that's the one I used back then. If I'd remembered the name I would have linked it earlier. For what it is, it's a very good emulator.

Haha. Yeah. The micro is a pretty sweet little system for just this sort of thing. I used to carry mine with me all the damn time. I'm thinking maybe I should steam that cart back from my wife and keep my micro in my desk at work...you know...for educational purposes.

Do you mean steal back? Man, Matt. You're going Steam crazy. :D

Yeah, I love my Micro. I have the anniversary edition that's gold/red and has a famicom controller design.

I have the famicom edition, too. I picked it up toward the end of it's lifespan for purposes of collecting, so it's still sealed.

I got a black one (with grey faceplate) at a garage sale for $5.

I also picked up the Final Fantasy IV edition while I was in Japan. Easily my favorite. It's blue, instead of black or silver.

Haha. I guess I am.

I had always hoped they'd release an NES controller design. Oh well. There were some no-name face plates, but I didn't want those. Right now I think mine is all black.

Man, what were they thinking with the ones that came with it? They were like neon blue and pink. Man, those were so ugly. You would think they would have made one of the faceplates like an NES controller. Or anything better for that matter. I wonder how many of those went into the trash or in the back of a drawer somewhere.

There was a mod out there someone did to make it look like a classic Gameboy. It had the purple buttons and a faceplate to match.

No kidding. I got mine used for dirt cheap from someone on the Neo Geo forms who had luckily acquired a black face place for his black system, which was what I wanted anyway :)

I think the face place idea was more popular in Japan than it was here. They just didn't do anything with it here as there wasn't as much demand for it. I think a limited run of NES controller face plates would have sold like crazy, though.

I've always wanted to play Mother 3, but I can't read Japanese. Not sure if a translated version was ever released.

Maybe someone could do custom decals that could go over the ugly original face plates. But that would be a lot of effort most likely. Meh. I'm happy with my Famicom one. :)
