I'm looking for a couple of Super Off-road steering wheels and one of the caps that go in the center of them to cover the three mounting bolts. Thanks, —Rich

Hi Rich,
I am missing one as well. I have asked my friend at work who has a 3-D printer to see if he can make some of those steering wheel caps. His first comment to me was "What color do you want and do you want these customized?"
I will bring one in for him to copy and see if it works. I'll ask him for the price and I will get back to you. I really hope he can make one of these.

Jay

He will have the prototype(s) by this Friday. He talked again about customizing them and we talked about making them in the blue, red, and yellow colors to match the 3 player truck colors.
I also brought him a steering wheel (I bought it couple years ago for the encoder wheel) to make sure it fits.

Hey guys,
Quick question: do the caps on your machines are flat and taper at the edge or is raised with a circle engraved on them?
I was looking at my Off-Road pedals answering a question on another thread and noticed the ones on mine are different than the one I loaned my friend?

I guess there are two different styles...

Well he brought the prototype in and it looks fine, even though it is green. I will take a picture of it and post it tonight. I told him to make twelve back ones for the first run.

Hi Rich,
This one did have a scratch and I pointed it out. Here it is:
Plugs into the steering wheel with no problem: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/picture.php?albumid=1698&pictureid=13401

Here is the cap: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/picture.php?albumid=1698&pictureid=13402

My friend showed me the difference in plastics. The one that he uses is tougher (stiffer) than the original. He said if you are replacing one, you might as well replace all three so they match. The price will be three for $5.

I will test each one on my steering wheel, they will be black, and I will reject any of them with scratches.

Jay

Hey Jay,

You got me down for 3 right? lol. Will they be in matte black (color matches better to the steering wheel vs shinny black)?

Yep, I got you down for 3. I did ask the guy to match it to the original. I will post a picture to compare the new vs. old.

Did you see my question about what type of cap you have? My machine has caps with a circle engraved on it and the control panel I bought for the encoder wheel is just flat.

SWEET!!! I'll take 3 black ones too please.
Sorry about the delay in digging mine out and getting that info back to you. My daughter graduated from high school yesterday and it's been hectic around here the last couple of days. I'll dig it out today, I promise.

Congrats on her walking.

Thanks, we're all very proud of her.
My cap has a circle in the center of it with a ring around it. It looks like a top down view of a control panel button, kind of.

I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember that Super Off-road came with two different types of steering wheels. One was a hard plastic and the other was a slightly softer rubber wheel. I guess they changed them during the production run. That may explain the two different kinds of caps you've found. My wheels are the rubber kind.
