I am looking to purchase a working SNES (the original North America version, not II) with at least two controllers. As long as it is working, I do not care about the condition. In fact, I would rather get one in terrible shape so I could pay less for it. Would be interested in some games as well. Let me know and thanks for looking.

Me and my buddy just got a bunch of nintendo stuff. I know he has an extra SNES system. I am seeing what he wants for it, if interested.

$50 SNES console, 2 controllers, AC adapter, coax TV adapter.

Package deal - $100 SNES console, 2 controllers, AC adapter, coax TV adapter, 10 games.

He has over 30 games.

I appreciate both you and you friends willingness to sell me one. Unfortunately they are selling for less on ebay so I think I will hold off for now. Thank you though and I will keep you in mind.

Show me an ebay auction for less than $50 for a SNES console, 2 controllers, AC adapter, coax TV adapter.

Yep, $50 is a reasonable and fair price for a (working) SNES. It's what we sell them for. That one on ebay must be broken, if they have all the hook ups why wouldn't they test it? shady. You can't even get one with hook ups for $50 on Amazon.

This last weekend I stopped by a garage sale on a whim and bought a working SNES, all cables, 5 games, and 3 controllers for $15. Look around on CL and such, they are out there cheap.

I've got one plus game for $30 plus shipping. I have several, in fact. Only have one extra with me, but I have many more in storage.

Very true, although $15 was certainly a steal.

I did not wish to offend anyone. I should not have typed "they are selling for less on Ebay" because that implies there is one on there right now cheaper than $50 and that is not the case. I was simply saying that I have seen them sell on Ebay for less than $50 in the past, and we all know Ebay is usually as expensive as it gets. I have been checking the console forum for a couple of weeks now and nothing has come up so I figured I would make a post and see what happened. I am not in any great need of a SNES and would rather find a great deal that pay a typical (or especially an Ebay) price for one. That is also why I specified I was looking for one in ruff shape so I could get it even cheaper. I appreciate everyone's offers and inputs, but I just want to make it clear where I am coming from so as not to upset anyone.

Keep your eyes out. I have never paid more than $10 for a working SNES in good shape. ~$50 is a good deal if you need one right away, but if you can wait a few days, you can find a better one.

The SNES is a very resilient console, and 9 out of 10 times a "broken" SNES needs some cleaning and a new fuse. Sometimes the power jack itself is busted while the console works fine, another easy fix.

It's totally worth the 5-10 minutes to fix one for less than a quarter of the price.

Wow, what a great deal... the guy who sold that to you must be awesome! ;)

Yeah, imagine that.... awesome indeed.

You are right, I have passed up on several for about $10 over the years. Now that I have one to play, I am going to start collecting others when I come by them. I will be keeping my eye out for "non-working" because you hit it on the head, usually they are an easy fix.
