WTB: Street Fighter III 3rd Strike

you and me both, very HTF
although other CPS3 games i've seen are on ebay.

Lol yeah alot harder than i thought it would be. I have a new gen right now but maybe i'll get lucky and pick up a 3rd strike at auction soon. If I can't find one soon might just mame it. Can at least play on ggpo that way .

since they cracked CPS3

it went down in value across the board. I sold my 2nd Impact 2 years ago for $200+ and today picked up a working board SF3 2nd Impact in a dead converted dig dug machine. I'm going to part it out cause I just wanted the board so this pickup will end up being pretty cheap.

At least you can try for 2nd Impact as it's not so far off from 3rd strike and at least it has parry in there.

Where are you located?

Did you ever find one?

I'm a little confused on the whole CPS3. I know that its the mother board + cart + CD + CD drive just to play the game right? So can you buy a CPS3 motherboard and swap out (cart and CD) if you want to play lets say JOJOs BA? Or does the Motherboard have to be a SF3 3rd strike motherboard?

Also is the battery change the same as CPS2?

Each game is just the CD and the security cart. The CD can even be burned.
The MB is all the same and comes caged and un-caged.
The drive is a standard SCSI drive.

Different games have different RAM requirements on the MB slots. 3rd Strike requires the most. Different territories have different color carts. The CDs do not drive the territory, it's on the cart. And CDs drive certain game versions.

I was lucky, I got my working US version. I have 2 dead carts also. I was thinking to have them revived as Asian/Korean versions but it's very pricy. ($150 from New Era)

I saw some motherboards on ebay with and without memory, is that a specific type of memory or can you just buy that at any electronic store? Also is that the same with the CD drive?

wow 2 dead carts! I wonder why they go bad? Is that because of the suicide battery?

Total noob to all this, but I do love 3rd strike, I might pick that up one day. Just want to get it as cheap as possible.

Thanks for the info Prairied1ll0!
