Looking for a stargate cabaret joystick unit. Mine is way too loose and built like crap. Anyone know a better replacement than the factory built stick cause it sucks !

The cabaret, upright and cocktail all use the same joystick. Actually a Defender joystick will work too. That rebuild kit should do the trick.

Right- the cocktail stick is the same as the cabaret. Its some cheap barrel roll design. Man I hate it !

thanks but the stick is for the upright and not the cabaret. They are different. How is that star wars cab project going?

Ah, sorry about that. I thought only the cocktail was different.

As for the SW cab, I've got all the parts for it now and with any luck I'll start the restore over the 4th of July weekend.

I am heading to a machine shop later today to see if I can get these cocktail/ cabaret joystick assemblies remanufactured.

I expect that you would have a small niche market for these reproductions if successfully. 1/2 of the value of an old Williams cab can be found in the joysticks if they are in good condition.

I believe the sticks are a bit smaller than the upright sticks.

here is a pic that shows the difference with joust ct and upright sticks.

What color are the ball tops supposed to be?

For Stargate & Defender the balltops are red. For Joust it is 1 blue and 1 yellow.

The sticks have a slightly different shape that the picture shows if you look closely. On the CT joysticks there is a small extension below the E-clip that is the piece that pushed the leaf switches closed as the joystick pivots.

I don't have a set handy but I recall looking at them and I believe that an upright set could be lathed down to the shape of a CT set.

Thanks Ken ,

I have the small complete stargate cabaret stick so I am sure its the same one as you are referring too. The joystick pivots and the bottom of the stick hits the leaf switch contact thus completing the circuit. The color is light baby blue and light yellow on the joust - Is this corrrect?

? on the joust stick for you guys? Defender and stargate only move up and down and NOT left to right. Does the joust stick need to move left to right- I do not know as I do not have a joust assembly on hand. If so then I need to see the design as its slightly different than the defender/ stargate stick.

Next ? -- Do we go with the screw on ball tops instead of the fixed ball top ?

you mean for Joust that the joystick only goes left to right and not up and down. Am I correct on this ?

Ok - lets see what they come back with the pricing b4 I have them change up the design to left to right. If all is well then I will deifnitley have them repro the joust assemblies too.
