WTB: Star Wars proms - anyone have any left from their ESB install?

I need the 4 small proms from the middle of the main Star Wars cpu board. These were removed and no longer needed by anyone who has installed an ESB kit. I had a spare set but seem to have lost them. Anyone out there have a set they are willing to part with?

I thank you and my broken Star Wars thanks you.

What #s on the PROMs?

I may have some NOS ones.

I'm at work but I can get the numbers when I get home. I believe they are at location 7H, 7J, 7K, 7L (going from memory here). There should be a ton of them floating around from all the ESB kits that were installed. Unless people just want to hang onto them in case they want to deconvert.

I sold most of them... I have these still:

136021-110 Star Wars 3
136021-109 Star Wars 3

Just to clarify... All the Atari ones I have are NOS... with the exception of 1 PROM. (I forget which one offhand)

Yup, screw used one that are waiting to die. These things have such a high failure rate.....new ones are the way to go.

What planet do you live on that these have high failure rates?

I've had WAY more issues with NOS chips that wouldn't burn properly than with originals failing... I had about a 10% underburn / overburn rate with the last lot of chips...

Even 'NEW' chips are probably 20-year-old stock...

I agree with everything you're saying about NOS one not burning properly (one of the reasons why I buy burned ones from HobbyROMs), being 20 year old stock, etc. Maybe "high failure rate" was a bit presumptuous.....all I can say, from my experience, I've had these PROMs be bad (one or more) on a lot of the Star Wars boardsets I've fixed. Now, I'll admit....I haven't worked on a ton of Star Wars boardsets, but I'd say 75% have had at least one of these bi-polars bad. These things do run very hot, and if I was in the market to buy some....I'd feel more comfortable about the longevity of NOS originals or newly burned PROMs, over ones that have had...who knows....how many hours of use, and thus heat. HobbyROMs has always been very reasonable, price wise, on new burns. Probably about the same price the OP would pay for someones used ones. Maybe I'm way off base on my thinking.

Oh yeah, planet Earth is home base.:)

You do realize that bipolar proms are programmed by literally blowing up junctions on the chip with high currents... there's nothing heat's going to do do 'damage' them any worse than the initial programming... heh.
