Project, huh? I have an upright Voyager. It's currently missing the monitor. I believe the battery is dead, causing it to not boot up completely, but just in case the HD died, I also have the image burned to a disc. Also needs t-molding. $100 if you come get it. Frees up some space for me.

If you want me to put a working monitor in it and make sure everything works, then we're talking $450, so it depends on how much of a project you want....

Tonight I took delivery of my new Project (another find thanks to the help of modessitt) - a 1982 Sega Star Trek video game in the Captain's Chair configuration.

This machine completes my Star Trek arcade... as its the last one I didn't have.

It's going to need quite a bit of work... the wood is going to need some repair; and the plastics have begun to have that old plastic yellowing (can you read Retr0brite?). It currently has no vector monitor; but appears to be complete. I hope there are no circuit board issues - but won't be able to test until I get a working vector monitor.

I'd like to have this read for TPF'2010 in March 2011; but its just too short of a time frame to do this captain's chair justice.

Hey- can I get in line for that canopy?

Mine has several cracks and missing chunks.
Does anybody have a way to make a new one out of a LARGE tinted sheet of plexi?

I have a canopy if you need it.

Is this one of the 2 cabinets I gave Chris Walker for free?

My cab doen't have the canopy - so; yeah - I need it.

Don't know for sure of the lineage.

Muchas Gracias.

Regal plastics in Austin has grey acrylic which they cut to order.
I'd have to see the canopy size; and cutouts before I know; but it should be possible to laser cut the canopy.

We should be able to repro and impove their design.
Let me get through this weekend and we'll talk some more.

Are you going to restore this one or turn it into something else?

I might have some other parts too.

If I recall correctly, he needs:

1 - canopy
2 - coin door (has frame)
3 - working G08
4 - probably the cage for the cockpit boards. He has an upright kit, but IIRC the cage (and maybe the boards?) for the cockpit is different

The cage itself is the same between the cockpit and upright, but there is a small metal bracket at the bottom that lets you mount it differently.

The power supply and card cage mount to a wooden shelf that is vertically situated underneath the seat in a cockpit.

The boards are the same between the cockpit and upright also. It's funny because if you put two credits on the cockpit, Spock says "press player 1 or player 2 start", but there is only a single start button. It would seem like there could be a different ROM set that disabled the prompt for player 2 in a cockpit.

There are drawings in the cockpit manual. I can take some photos if you need.

I have a cabinet board set - not upright.
As it stands now I have the plastics and bezel for two captains chairs.

I have a single set of:
board set
maybe the cable set

What I have nothing of (as Mod stated):
1 - canopy
2 - coin door (has frame)
3 - a complete G08 w/ good tube. Can be non functional as long as the boards are complete.
4 - a clean garage
5 - time to start the restore.

I'm going to restore to a Sega Star Trek. I'd like to do mutli Sega - but seems that product is vaporware.
