WTB: Spy Hunter

Will do. Thanks. KLOVers have been really great...both on this thread and PMing.

CL is always a concern for buying, but this guy seemed really to be forthright. I think he might also be here on KLOV.

Essentially, CheapSqueak board was not working, included another one which also doesn't fully function. Also including a couple extra MCR power supplies...which is good because I hear that these fail over time. Still, even though a couple of common problems are the answer for the CheapSqueak, it's not certain. And, trying to chase that kind of problem on a first cabinet might have a nasty effect of souring me up front.

Still, I realize any machine will take work and I will have a learning curve. Community seems great for that support as well when the time comes too.

DK, often times the linear power board doesn't need to be rebuilt. I have 2 and both were fine and just required a little adjustment. When they're rebuilt they're good solid power supplies that will remain good for a long time. Don't go for the switching power supply replacement on Spy Hunter.

There are games where the original power supply was crap and they were unreliable and dangerous to the boards when they failed (think Sega Star Trek) but these linear supplies were very good.

I wouldn't be terribly concerned if a board isn't 100% or fails. MCR games like Spy Hunter are trivial to get repaired because KLOVer CDJump fixes them quickly and easily and at reasonable prices. He could fix that CSD board for example.

Have a few feelers out there, so getting close to purchasing, but just a last bump to see if any local Spy Hunters are out there in the metro-NY/northeast for sale. Don't be shy!!
