WTB sound card for SPEED UP (Gaelco)

lol, I have a speed up cab. I'll try to check it out today. The sound and steering feedback didn't work. I checked the board and the fuses were blown. I pulled the control panel with steering assembly and the wires going into the motor had frayed and shorted.

Pulled the motor and fixed the wires, replaced the fuses and powered the game up. The fuses blew but I still had sound only it had a bit of static, was overdriven and I couldn't adjust the volume.

I'll check it out when I get home. This is assuming you are refering to the dedicated cab. If you are not then my findings won't help you. If you only have a board then you need a filter board as the board is not a typical Jamma pinout.

Hi R3LL1K, any of your findings would help. Yes it's about a Speed Up board. Someone on eBay sold many of them, all working fine through JAMMA except for the sound (no sound), so I am trying to figure out how this sound problem may be solved. So, I would need a filter board ? Is such a board included in your dedicated cab or is it a DIY thing I have to build myself ? On eBay, there is a Surf Planet PCB for sale and I can see an extra small board attached to the connector, here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370324812019
Knowing this game runs on the same hardware as Speed Up, is this that board I would need ?

I couldn't say for certain if that's the board that you would need. I found a surf planet kit manual which mentions the filter board. Speed up didn't have a kit as far as I know it was only dedicated cabs. Too bad you're not in Houston I could have given you a great deal on the one I have.

No problem buddy ;)
I hope someone can test such a filter board with Speed Up so I can know if that's what I need... ulaljako sold one thousand of Speed Up loose boards on eBay, so I cannot believe nobody could find out how to output the sound ! ^^

You'll need a sound amp. You can try the computer speaker hack on bobs site. The board that controls the steering feedback seems to have the sound amp on it as well.
