could'nt doing bondo or glueing or replacing the wood fix that?
I don't know that you understand rotten wood and cabinet repair. Some things are so ugly that its not worth the money, time or effort, you could buy two really nice ones for the cost of patching together a rotten blasted piece of crap. You'd need to cut almost every piece out brand new, then it wouldn't be a restore it would be a new cabinet build. You'd then need to buy every piece of artwork, wire in a harness with the 4p controls, joysticks, buttons, find a monitor that works, get a working pcb, have a glass bezel cut for it. About a gallon of bondo later and $600 later you'd have a nice Simpsons cabinet that wasn't original.
I think its quite obvious what the problem is...
I have a ugly Simpsons cabinet, which is a game that you've been looking for.
I found a second Simpsons cabinet that you'd also like to have.
Reading that I'm considering parting the worse of the two to save one breaks your heart.
I've offered you games first ahead of other people that you showed interest in and "Had to have" but we were never able to make a deal happen. I even remembered 6 months to a year later and sent you off an email saying that your wanted game was coming up on the chopping block. I was willing to take $200 less than what I sold it for (Golden Axe II) so a klover who really wanted a nice one could have it, and you still passed it up...
Its not that I'm an asshole, I do believe I sense jealousy in your thread postings and anger that I would scrap something out that is something you've been looking for...
What am I supposed to do? Give you the cabinet for free, all the parts I've gathered over the last year, and hell, throw in delivery the 200miles round trip?? Maybe I should also eat all the gas on all this driving around picking up cabinets and driving them 1200 miles back home SO I COULD SAVE A SIMPSONS CABINET. I left a pretty nice working game that was trade bait down in California because I didn't have the room... would have been easy to kick Simpsons out since it was empty, BUT, I left a couple hundred dollar game behind so as to continue my dream of a NICE Simpsons cab.
I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to get at, but it pushes me more towards parting out before I even assess the condition and not to worry about what other games people are looking for...
Over the last year or so I've seriously been understanding what Chris25810 and the others bitch about... You try to save something and everyone whines... you then part it out everyone whines... So I guess I should be in this hobby so OTHER people can get games and I can take losses on each one...
