No shit? I played there for YEARS! They probably had 10+ red tents their entire existence.

Now its a tatoo parlor.

O ya we drove by it earlier this year, still go back to the area to visit. We used to go there all the time when I was young, I had a birthday party there one year where you could rent it out for a couple hours in the morning but they never showed up so we ended up having it at the McDonald's across the street. Hoping to find some tokens!

I go there at least twice a year. Eureka has the best weather in the state (in my opinion).

I have seen a few tokens on ebay, but never in bulk.

I never got to play at that one that I remember. What about trapshoot at Angelo's Pizza?

And yes please help me out if someone out there has some Sharkeys Arcade Tokens! Still Looking!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I go to Angelos twice a year. We play the hell out of trapshoot. I worked there from 95-97.

I worked at fortuna angelos in 88-89

Nice! When my wife and I went there in March recently is was down so we didn't get to play it, but they had all the games in there mini arcade going. There was a deli place over by Cutten Elementary that had a mini arcade also. Had a nice neo geo mini.

OMG - so you guys aren't going to believe this. So ironic. As per a "finder thread" I will post soon, yesterday I traveled out to Chico to pick up a couple good finds. In one of them I found a token. It said Sharkey's on it. It looked vintage and unique so I googled it. Brought me here (amongst other places). So crazy to me, cause I never heard of it.

Sadly, @Alabeen , sorry, but I always keep coins I find in my games, as I feel they are nostalgic for me and collective to my personal acquirement so I am keeping this one. It tells a story and reminds me of my venture for this game.

Anyway, so I pieced it together after talking to the seller, and he bought the game from a guy that had the game on location at Sharkey's years ago. So this game was at Sharkey's !!

DOPE ! Frickin historic.

That is awesome! I have gotten a few coins since this post but still looking for more. Definitely a cool coin for your collection. What game did it come out of? Curious if I remember playing it there.
Donkey Kong Jr - I'll have pics of the trip/story soon in another thread and I'll link between threads.

So I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse. If you know anything about me from before, I usually only buy very excellent condition games, as I am not the "project" type. But these two I got (coming soon to a thread near you) I just couldn't refuse. They need work, yes, but all is doable and really good looking for "project" games.

That's really cool, I don't specifically remember playing DK Jr. But I'm sure I did. Sharkey's would rent out the arcade for kids on their birthday and get everything on free play or give games credits that didn't have a free play option. From what I remember it was a 2 hour time slot. So if you were at one of those birthday parties you would just run around and play everything! Thanks for sharing that you found a token and got an arcade game from there! Let me know if you ever sell it, would like to get a game from Sharkey's!

You might want to consider hitting thrift shops / antique shops within 25 miles or so from the location. You'd be amazed what turns up.

$4.95/token + $3.50 S&H (lol):

$3.99/token + $1.00 S&H:

Wow @thegleek comes through yet again ! WTF though ? Them prices are stupid for 1 defunct token.

Also, mine look brass. Why do those look more like nickel plated ? Did they change up their token metal over the years ?

They had both

Copper were the originals, silver the more recent.
So mine is even more vintage ?? Cool ! $15 ea then !

I also found some pennies and a quarter in there. They were all from the 80's. That doesn't mean much though because someone can put a 197x penny in a cab today on accident/randomly.

As promised- Check out the thread about the game I found that used to be on location @Sharkey's Arcade in Eureka, CA back in the day. There was a token from Sharkey's inside. Its also a cool thread more about the success story of linking up with a fellow Klov member for the road trip:

A Lovely Day

I might have some in storage in Eureka. Only problem is I won't be up there until summer. Sharkys was my hangout from 82 to 87 before I moved back to Sacramento. I was born in Eureka but raised in Sac since birth but lived in both towns back and forth through my childhood. I would walk to the joke house then over to Sharkys. Thinking back on it I feel like I'm watching The Andy Griffith Show 😂
