Anybody have a good line on these? was wondering as most places require a $15 min purchase, and I only need a few for now.
Thanks

Should only need a couple chips, getting the RAM 11 error so I was thinking maybe 5? not sure as Ive never dealt with this before!
Let me know
THANKS!

I'm still running 4116s in all three of my machines. I've had very few bad RAM, mostly its bad power connectors or power supply.

Riptor sells these RAMs cheap, I would PM him. Great to deal with.

Sparty Mac offered to help and sell a few chips first, if his are the wrong kind or he cant find them then I shall be knocking on Riptor's online door.

Thanks for the help guys, Im off to measure some voltages I guess!

Holy crap i fixed it!

SO
After reading up on the subject, I moved the suspect chip and the RAM error DID NOT follow the chip. I then took the board out and re-flowed the solder joints on the socket and PRESTO
It fired right up!
I am going to look into the 4164 conversion but for now Im pleased as punch that I did something productive today!

It doesnt surprise me that you had a bad solder joint on a 4116, they run extremely hot. I reccomend the 4164 upgrade, your power supply will thank you. However, im a firm believer in the "aint broke dont fix it". Im still running 4116 in my joust and dont plan on upgrading unless I have issues.

I do have some 4116's so if you end up needing a few let me know. Nice to see that you go it up and running.

Well thought it was good...the same ram error is coming up again, not sure what to make of it. It tested 100% after I reflowed the solder on that socket but after putting it all back together and back into its spot in my lineup, it disays the error again.
I guess let me know what you want for a few of those chips and I will take it from there (probably straight to the repair forum)

Reflow the solder on the CPU headers. If you do the 4164 upgrade you can either use the adapter or just cut a few traces and add some jumpers on the back of the CPU.
