Wtb:Restored Oak Acorn or Northwestern Gumball machine

Would like to buy a restored one from the 50s or 60s , preferably a Harley- Davidson themed gumball machine of either manufacturers listed above. Let me know what you have or where I can look or go to find antique gumball machines. Not too much on craigslist and alot of overpriced machines on ebay. I was also wondering if the Chicagoland Coin-op would be a good place. Thanks, Gary.

Gary, the Chicagoland show has tons of gumball machines but many are "pricey" antiques so you may need to walk the entire show if you're looking for a deal. Some of the best finds are often in the Parking lot very early Friday morning.

You can sometimes catch the route guys selling off Northwesterns on Craigslist. I hate looking up "gumball machine" on craigslist because 80% of what you see is people selling those stupid toy ones they sell.

Here's one:

Picked up my Acorn pretty cheap awhile back at a flea market. Not one of the local ones, but one of the big shows at our fairgrounds. My Dad had is soda blasted and painted at the local Navistar factory! Globe is a little yellow, but decent. You might contact Rich at www.pinballsalvage.com as he is into everything or may know someone. Good luck!
